Hippo mount arrived earlier this week. A little bigger than I thought.

Wow very interesting mount!

Wow very interesting mount!
Thanks. In addition to those weird tusks he had huge scars on both sides of his body. Unfortunately during the tanning process, when the hide was shaved, most of those scars were cut through.

Awesome hippo!! Never seen such interesting tusks! Wonderful trophy!!
We had no idea of the tusks until he was pulled out of the water. All I saw was the back of his head sticking out of the water. We were quite surprised.

Very nice.
I like unusual trophies.
Very interesting looks

Amazing!

WOW! :D Beers:

I keep finding other people to show this to and your post has only been up for an hour

So strange and so cool. Glad you got the shoulder mount
Thanks.

I'm glad I did too; I have the skull with the real tusks - but it doesn't do it justice.

It sort of sounds like you are accusing him of making up that he got that hippo, which seems like a weird thing to do.

He has posted pictures of this hippo to the site in the past.
Thank Sabre.

Got pics of the animal and the kill?

It looks sadly fake
As Sabre stated; pictures of the animal were posted after the hunt. I've got better things to do than fake a hippo - unless you're referring to the taxidermy job.

I like the tusks as well....like atypical antlers on deer. That hippo was a fighter!

I say wow. NO FAKE in my eyes, when I see the skull and the mount I say your taxidermist did an outstanding job. Totally lifelike and a representation of an odd none typical specimen. Never seen a form with tusk position like that. All custom, I also guess they had to custom make those special shaped tusks and position accurately from your pictures.

Great job, thanks for allowing us a look.

Just wanted to say thanks for the excellent customer service. Ordered some 9.3x62 brass and the delivery was a little short. An email through your website Contact Us link was replied to the next day with the tracking info for the correction. Good pricing coupled with great customer service will see returning customers every time. Thanks again!

Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
