It's from pheasant hunting of Moscow Safari Club

Awesome just awesome. Unbelievably beautiful gun. Those hunting outfits aren't nothing to sneeze at either. Ha ha i love it.

in most of those types of hunts you are looking at the elite and not the common working man in those countries. peta would have a field day with those fur coats, they are not possum skins

Beautiful gun!

The silver inlays and gold leaf look very similar to what I have on my Drilling that was made pre WWI and yes they are not only beautiful but very functional.

Leslie, hunting everywhere has a class character; hardly somewhere everything is arranged differently. The proletarian will not be able to pay for the work of Purdue's gunsmiths.
I constantly participate in these hunts as a huntsman with a dog, our Spaniel club gets a bonus - free hunt for the remaining pheasants for the next day. In other weekends, the same hunting looks easier for participants, I'd like to say, more democratic (of course, in the best sense of the word).
In this case, it is interesting shotgun (not "rifle", b... Google translator), it is new, but made in the style of the early 20th century. Is it hammerless or not?
When I started hunting, there were a lot of German guns, mostly Sauer, Zimson, Merkel. They were sometimes very elegant. Unfortunately, their barrel steel rusted easily.

Usually our huntsmen look simplier

Sure. If you look close it is actually a period hammer-gun. Steel barrels, so turn of the century game gun. Could have been made in Sweden as indicated on the barrels or imported from Germany and sold there. I don’t see any silver work, but the deep relief engraving is first class. The locking system is typically Teutonic - double underlugs, crossbolt, and hidden third fastener. More folks than you might imagine hunt with these wonderful old guns. We had a group in Northern VA who shot pigeons, clays, and game with only period SxS’s. And though we didn’t wear fur, you would be hard pressed to find orange or a advert hat on anyone.

Originally, these guns were made by Gustav Fückert in Weipert……

Today, only a few gunsmith are able to make them.

Not so simple. It's designe of Gustav Fükert, (1811-1900)? Austrian (or Chech) gunsmit. He used Swedih and Britain patents. But this gun is new.

stop in any working class pub in england, germany, Italy, poland, japan, serbia, india, china ect and ask how many are doing much hunting. I have hunted in different countries and only because I had money or good conections to get me into the field. pay attention to the show about hunting hogs on tv, theirs not a common man there shooting, just driving the hogs.

Pine marten coats and fox hats?
I d't know. May be marten, may be sable. He every year hants in another, last time there was racoon hat with tail and old Holland.

He did not used swedish oder british patents, his rights were protected in England, Sweden and so on....

Today you can order this guns in Ferlach or from a few german gunsmith….. and they are expensiv....

No, I can't:)
Apparently, Ferlach. Our celebrities love their craftsmen.

I know this guy (Mr. Retz),... you can order this gun without any engraving also, still expensiv, but a bit more affordable

But what is going on, with the trigger guard of this one? Is it cosmetic, or does it have a function?

I have no idea….

In Europe it is an upper class thing, but in the United States, I bet for every upper class hunter, there are 5,000 hunters that live in trailer parks, or shotgun shacks. Trust fund babies rarely hunt. Bubba does.

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
