Has anyone else been injured while hunting away from home?

In 2023 I was on a 14 day hunt for Lion and plains game. I got what I thought was either a blister or a bite on my toe next to my big toe. Day by day it got worse and swelled the toe to a deformed mess. I was practically crawling off the plane when I got stateside. I went directly to the ER and spent three days in the hospital on IV antibiotics to kill the infection in my leg and then had the toe amputated. The very next year I was on a hunt in SA for darted rhino, brown hyena, and PG. in the brown hyena hunt I cut my hand pretty deep on the tailgate of the bakkie. I killed an awesome werewolf of a brown hyena that night and had my hands all over him unbandaged. I can’t prove it but when I got home from that hunt I had a horrible infection in my body causing puss in that wound and my knee joint. A few more days on antibiotics and lancing my knee open to allow the puss to drain and I was good again. I’ve been able to make it back stateside to medical attention, but it’s been close!

Had an excellent classifieds transaction with JoninCO. A truly honest and standup member. I wouldn't hesitate at all to deal with him again. Thanks, J!

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
