What is the general consensus on using a ghost ring or other aperture for a DG rifle. I picked up a .458 on a mauser action that I intend to trim back to 20-22” and install a banded front. Been debating the rear and thinking an NECG ghost ring may be the most sensible. I have one on my .35 Whelen and love it.

I use a ghost ring rear sight on my Winchester 16" Trapper lever gun in 44 mag. It will print 3" groups at 100y and is the perfect little stalking rifle for whitetail deer or other similar game. The ghost ring simply makes that rifle. For DG where you are planning to stalk closer than 100y, it is a viable option and you eliminate the issue with scope hitting the shooter in the eye. My personal choice for DG is a LPVO but to each his own. In my case I will be using the DG rifle also to take some of the larger plains animals and the range for those is 200-300y and I just do not trust the irons at those distances.

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks

hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
