What holds the front sight in place? After shooting a few across the chrono today, I noticed the insert on the front sight was slid almost completely out. What's an easy way to fix it?

Thanks!

The insert for the actual bead? I changed mine but I'm reasonably sure the original had a screw. If that's missing you have a problem.

We changed the sight on my buddies Ruger. I seem to remember it having a spring loaded detent. It has been a while, so don’t quote me.

Sounds like you are missing the spring and plunger that holds it in...if it's slid halfway out...I'm guessing there's a curious empty hole in the sight base.

You're all correct, I just slid it back in place. Nothing in that hole. I have a feeling it was improperly installed when the rifle was Cerakoted.

Call up Sandy at Ruger in NH...she's the really nice and knowledgeable one on Ruger parts. She'll set you up with the right pieces. The place in NC is useless. Have them transfer to you to NH.

Thanks and I agree! I will never understand why I couldn't drive less than an hour and drop my rifle off for repair. They wanted me to ship it, where it would have to cover three times the mileage getting there. I tried recently to get the updated African stock, with the two cross bolts. No go on that either.

By the way, the cross bolts are not true cross bolts. It's just a small hole with a screw through it. I ordered two Talley crossbolts. Going to add them myself, bed it to the action, and add on the Red Hogue recoil pad I ordered.

Hi Lance, Hope you well. I collect Mauser rifles and they are very much part of my cultural history in Africa. Would you consider selling the rifle now a year on ? I'd like to place it in my collection of Mauser rifles. Many thx

I saw where you hunted elephant with backcountry safaris in Zimbabwe.
Was looking to book an elephant hunt and wanted to know how your hunt went
and if you would recommend them.

Thanks
Mike
hi, do you know about lions hunters, leopard hunters, and crocodiles hunters of years 1930s-1950s
I'm new to Africa Hunting. I would like to purchase a Heym 450-400 double rifle. I'm left-handed but would prefer a non-canted gun. Is anyone in the community considering parting with theirs?
