Just your basic Model 70 in the classic 375 H&H. I purchased this for a project that I have decided not to pursue. Gun is in VG+ condition. The only wear I see is around the muzzle and on the rear sight where the bluing has been worn somewhat. As is you could certainly take it to Alaska or Africa, or you could put it in a McMillan or similar synthetic stock, or a nice wood stock for that matter. I have shot it, but not for groups. Feeds and functions fine. $750 shipped to your FFL in the conus. PM me with any questions.

You know how some folks have "book exchanges"?

We should have a "rifle exchange".

As many new and like new rifles as we all seem to buy, sell...sell, buy.

The lib gun grabbers would have a field day with that one!

OMG!!! They are trading assault rifles back and forth like they are recipes for quiche!

Yep, controlled feed. Same action as all of the Model 70 Classics and essentially the same as what Winchester is producing today. I am just looking to get out of it what I have in it. Ready to go hunt DG as is, or it could be the basis for a nice custom rifle. A competent gunsmith could turn this into a 404 Jeffery, easy peasy.

It is the same, except it does have the original model 70 trigger as opposed to the current enclosed “MOA trigger.” That is an advantage to your rifle, in my opinion.

Update on this rifle. Weight is 8 lb 4.2 oz on my postage scale. LOP is 13 1/4. This seems short to me for a factory stock. On further inspection, it appears the stock may have been shortened by a previous owner based on the fit of what I believe is the original pad. If so, it was done well. So, I am going to drop the price to $700 to cover the cost of adding a spacer.

Someone asked that I post pics of the wear, so I have added them above. Looking again at the muzzle, I really don’t see any wear. Pics are of the rear sight, small trigger guard scratch and a couple of small marks on the tang.

Rifle is SPF.

Someone got a great deal! This model was what I began with for a custom build. Mine is an absolute tack driver.

Thanks for the kind words, @wipartimer. I hope it goes to Africa for buffalo.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
