For Sale Custom 416 Taylor On Remington 700 - Houston

I feel like this thread has been dead too long. So I had to take it along on a hunt and make it the topic of convo. It worked well.

Excellent!! :D Beers:
That rifle has a provenance of its own

very very fair offer - decent rifle for the price of a Senderco

I too own a Taylor and my experience is quite similar to that of @mdwest.
The “bowling ball” colored stock makes @Glenn Slaven ‘s Taylor “special” and adds to his hunting success. @tarbe knew that when he originally bought that stock. If in doubt, try and find a stock in that camo pattern now? LOL

Thanks for bringing up this EPIC sales thread back from the dead. I’ve missed it. Congrats on your hunting success with that rifle!

Toby you have me almost spitting my coffee on the keyboard.

Just curious, what is the twist rate of the barrel?
The one I owned was 1:10, but I have seen references to 1:14.

I’m in the planning stages of one built on a CRF M70 action.

Not sure about this rifles twist rate but .416s will work well either way in 1:14” barrel twist. For a tad more stability during terminal penetration, 1:12” stabilizes better the long monolithics or heavy for caliber bullets.

Same thinking, thanks for your reply.

When I pulled it out the PH said “sir, that is a beautiful rifle”. I said there are about 100 people that would say you are talking “kak” right now. Lol

Beauty is in the eye of the BEER holder! The old 2 at 10 and a 10 at 2 apply to this rifle.

I have no idea. @Glenn Slaven and/or @tarbe would know.
