For Sale is a Browning A5 16 gauge with a 28-inch Modified choke matte solid rib barrel. Only around 14000 of these were made during the 4yrs of war in all gauges and less in the 16ga. This gun is 95%+ with no box. All Serial numbers on this gun match and the gun is unmolested, and completely original. All the screws are sharp, and perfect. Couple small handling marks on the wood, nothing to speak of. Not bad for an 81yr old gun. I bought this from the original family and the son said it has been in his safe for 50yrs since his father passed. I would honestly say, I don't think the gun had a box of shells through it. It is tight, crisp and the nicest one I have seen.

Now the history, In 1942 - 1946 at the end of the war, Belgium was a Nazi occupied country. Hence, no firearms were being exported to the enemy and Browning commercial lines were shut down due to sanctions. In an effort to continue to produce the No.1 selling shotgun to Americans, Browning contracted with Remington to produce the A5 in their plant. Now, Remington was still producing their Model 11, however these still remained different in features. The Browning A5's during this era still had the magazine cut off like the Belgium guns, and still functioned appeared completely the same. The only visible differences were Browning had Remington do a matte finish on the top of the receiver and instead of a Belgium rust blue, Remington do a hot bluing method on the metal which gave the Browning a more Satin finish. Most hunters preferred this for water fowling anyway. Well, that's about it on the history, so this is an American Made Browning A5, 16ga 2 3/4" MOD choked gun. Pretty rare.

You won't be disappointed in this gun... Funny thing is these are rarer than a Belgium Browning Sweet 16ga guns!!

My Dad had one of those but in much more of a used condition!! The shotgun and two other guns were all I asked for after my Dad passed away. Unfortunately, my brother got all of them which his wife promptly took to a pawn shop for drug money. I would pay dearly today for that old beat up Browning and the Savage lever action .308 Such is life.
I can promise whoever buys this shotgun will have a better weapon than most made today!
Good Luck with the sale!

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Business is the only way to fly. I'm headed to SA August 25. I'm hoping that business isn't an arm and a leg. If you don't mind, what airline and the cost for your trip. Mine will be convoluted. I'll be flying into the states to pick up my 416 Rigby as Thailand doesn't allow firearms (pay no attention to the daily shootings and killings) so I'll have 2 very long trips.
