I searched for a thread that has everyone's favorite drink recipes and didn't find one. Here are 2 of mine to start it off.

1) Top Shelf Margarita:
3oz 1800 Reposado Tequila
1.5oz Agave syrup
1.5oz Nellie & Joes Key Lime Juice concentrate (available online, but cheaper at Walmart)
1.5oz good water.
1.5oz Orange Liquer (I use 50/50 of Contreau and Gran Marnier, but you can use all of one or the other, I like Gran Marnier better than Contreau)

Mix well, pour over ice and top with a small amount of Sprite.
Using this specific Lime Juice makes the recipe turn out perfectly every time, when I've tried other Lime juices, the PH seems to vary and sometimes it turns out and sometimes it doesn't.
I personally like a salted or rim of Tajin, that is personal preference.

2) My version of a Manhattan. We call it the Dr. Peacock Manhattan named for my daughter Dr. Peacock.
2 parts Rye Whiskey (I use Bullit Rye)
1 part Dom Benedictine.
3 or 4 drops of syrup from Luxardo cherry jar.
2 shakes of bitters.

Do the following in order. Add all ingredients to a mixing container, stir it all together then add ice to cool. Strain into a rocks glass with new ice in it and 1 or 2 Luxardo cherries. If you pour ingredients directly onto ice at first, the couple drops of cherry syrup doesn't mix in. I've had folks tell me "That's not a Manhattan, it doesn't have Vermouth, but it's really really good!"

If anyone wants one of these, drop by sometime.

My favorite is scotch with a little bit of ice.

But if I'm mixing one:

2 oz Bluecoat or Citadelle Gin
1 oz Lillet Blanc
Shake with ice, strain into a cocktail glass.

Hey guys, yes. My normal is Jameson neat, but that isn't much of a recipe. I have one more to post later, it is my Long Island Ice Tea recipe. My friends call them "Face Melters".

When you say "drink recipe", I take it to mean a cocktail and not just a bourbon (or similar) neat or over ice.

In a shaker tin, muddle 4 mint leaves.
Add 2 oz of Gunpowder Gin.
Add ice and shake for 15 seconds.
Double strain over large clear ice cube into lowball glass.
Top with Fever-Tree tonic water.
Express lime rind over the top and use as a garnish with a toothpick.

Amazing summer drink.

If we are talking summer drinks.

2 oz your favorite gin
1 whole grapefruit
1 cup of ice
Put all ingredients in blender and blend

Refreshing and tasty

Coke Zero on ice with a dash of liquid smoke and one of vanilla. RSA Coke is significantly sweeter than NA variety. With this recipe I can lean back, close my eyes, and pretend I'm back at the lodge sitting around the campfire at night. Sigh!

Best part is it's a dirt cheap drink that won't screw up my sleep pattern like the hard stuff does.

Peeled, just the fruit. I've never really run into many seeds in any of my grapefruit. If you take the time to remove most of the pith it will be sweeter if you leave some it will add some bitterness which I like.

A finger or two of bourbon and an ice cube. I don’t care for a manhattan or an old fashioned. If ordering a mixed drink, I’ll usually get a dirty vodka tonic or a martini.

I'm looking for "RECIPES". Just about any good liquor neat is great, but not much of a recipe.

My Long Island ice Tea is easy and dangerous, my friends hace named it the Face Melter.

Equal parts - Neutral Gin (New Amsterdam), 1800 Reposado Tequila, Gran Marnier, Belvadere Vodka, Sailor Jerry Spiced Rum, 2/3 part Agave Nectar/syrup, 2/3 part Nellie and Joe's Key Lime Juice and 2/3 part water.

Stir good, pour over ice and top with a little Coke.

I like Bourbon and Scotch neat, on hot days Gin with ICE brand sparkling/flavored water (Black Raspberry or Watermelon strawberry) with ice

I love bourbon and depending on quality possibly a cube of ice.

On the beach I will take a margarita made with filthy margarita mix

Blanton's. bourbon, on ice.
Love Manhattan's and have been enjoying this iteration, a Perfect Manhattan, that is less sweet than the standard.
  • 2 oz Rye whiskey
  • ½ oz Sweet vermouth
  • ½ oz Dry vermouth
  • 2 dashes Angostura bitters
  • Garnish: Brandied cherry
I've been drinking Rioja in anticipation of a hunt in Spain. For some reason, I don't think the wine has a big following in America, and you can get great bottles, with some age, for $25 to $40. Shared a bottle of Marques de Riscal with some friends we had for dinner, and they know wine, and thought it was a much more expensive bottle. From what I gather, some of the great French Bordeaux grapes were brought to Spain a few centuries ago to escape a blight and the vines have prospered. Faustini is another good, modestly priced bottle. Look for Reserva, and Gran Reserva on the bottles.

Ranch water:

- 1+ oz. of good quality tequila
- juice from 2 or 3 limes
- ice
- top off with Topochico or some other clear soda water
- (optional) moisten rim of glass and coat with salt or Tajin.

Perfect as a lighter alternative to a margarita

Spanish wine is great and a great value. If it said France on the label it would usually be 50% or more higher priced.

Find a bottle of Numanthia or the lower priced second label Teremanthia and you’ll be amazed.

The Green Isaac Special

“‘Do you want a drink with coconut water? I got some water coconuts.”
‘Very good.’
‘Want a Green Isaac Special?’
‘Fine. Make it a Special.’
Eddy came aft with the tall cold drink made of gin, green coconut water and chipped ice with just enough Angostura bitter to give a rusty, rose color, he held the drink in the shade so the ice would not melt while he looked out over the sea.”

So there you have it, one of any number of drinks invented by Hemingway. He was obviously an early trendsetter for the restorative properties of coconut water before it was sitting on supermarket shelves. And in case you’re wondering the name Green Isaac comes from the Great Isaac Cay. It’s a small Bahamian island right in the infamous Bermuda Triangle.

Green Isaac Special

The Green Isaac Special

Once he bought a house in Key West,Hemingway wrote to his publisher saying “Will plant more limes and coconuts. Wish you could plant a gin tree.” The Green Isaac Special is the embodiment of that sentiment, a cocktail perfect for a sweltering summer day. The Green Isaac Special is pretty much a variation on a Tom Collins: lime juice replaces lemon juice, coconut water replaces club soda, and then given Hemingway’s aversion to the stuff the dose of sugar disappears entirely.
