Good Evening folks - my first post on here. Planning on fly to J-burg from Houston in July of 27. Last trip I flew Lufthansa with no issues but considering Emirates this trip. Does anyone have any feedback on recent trips and flights using Emirates and flying with guns. No plans but to transit thru Dubai both directions.

3 trips with Emirates and rifles, no issues with firearms.

Just fill out and submit the firearms form on their website. Thats it.

For ammunition, most counter agents insist on weighing case with ammo. If youre close to the limit while cased, let them know you weigh the ammo separately outside of the case. If well under in your case, no worries at all.

No worries on Emirates. 2 trips with rifles.

Just follow their declaration rules and you’ll be fine. A travel agent like Gracy can help ensure you have everything in order.

Just flew Emirates last month and no issues with my rifles.

I flew them with rifles several years ago. The have some documentation that needs to be filled out in advance.
The only problem I had was that they didn't have an agreement with AK Air (code share partner) to transfer firearms. They would only transfer regular luggage.
So I had to pick up my firearm at baggage claim and check it in directly with them.

If you're staying on Emerites the entire trip you should not have any issues. They are a very good airline and I like flying with them.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
