Thanks for posting that.

Sure is a usual .577NE & rifle, peep sight where the safety would be & 9Lbs 6oz is a bit on the light side even for a .500NE, barrels are smaller diameter than the action shoulders to, bag grip & extended stock.

Be a great work rifle other than that awful Greener type side safety .

I suspect this rifle to be regulated for the 90 grain (cordite) 650 grain bullet load, hence the light weigth..

I wonder if this is not a mistake because they write that the rifle is heavy and so on, but a rifle that weighs 9 Ibs is imho not heavy.

... .The rifle weighs 9lbs 6oz which is heavy but it will help to tame the recoil.

Agreed! A nine pound 577 NE will dish out some sobering recoil! Unless the fit happens to be perfect.

Was it a converted BPE? Weight suggests that.

Certainly something like this can never be ruled out, but since it is a British rifle one should be able to recognize it by the proof marks, be it the rifle were converted in the USA without going through a European proof house.

But you can also be wrong and consider a BPE rifle to be a Nitro rifle. I know of a case where a DR caliber 577 BPE 3 1/4-inch was used in uncertainty as a DR caliber 577 Nitro Express 3-inch for years and in which the normal cartridges 577 Nitro Express 3-inch were fired without any problems. I held this rifle in my hands after it was known that there was a mistake, and what was noticeable, was the light weight and the fine design of the DR, not comparable to a classic DR caliber 577 Nitro Express and his heavy barrels.

I still don't understand why the seller writes the rifle is heavy.

Jake, Sorry to bug you again. I was wondering if you could share a. couple actual pics of this crossbow with me?

Xpedition Archery USED Scrapeline390X Sniper Gray Crossbow XACW1001 - Light Wear - Needs Bolt/Arrow Guide Spring UA5689

If it is in a decent shape, would you be willing to sell it for $100 shipped? IS it missing the retention spring that goes over the bolt?
Thank you Ferenc
