Dear all,
Does anyone know if there is going to be a get together at the DSC?? Normally by now we are making arrangements etc.
Look forward to seeing y'all anyway

I would certainly be down for a get together. I’m from Atlanta, but live about 2 hours away now. I would be happy to assist or advise in planning if needed.
Bro I live on the wrong side of an ocean so wont know the first place to start in terms of arranging a get together. Saying that we can just make a small one in a pub or something

I will see you there for sure Mani. We’ll do something even if it’s at the hotel bar!

There will be no official get together Mani. Just not enough numbers its seems. Would certainly be down for something.

Most of the Texas hunters I know are skipping DSC in Atl. Maybe a sort of soft boycott so to speak. I will miss catching up with you. The Dallas crew you met is hunting with me in early December. I’m considering making SCI in Nashvillle.

I’m sure there are Texans going to DSC Atlanta.. but I honestly can’t think of one that I have spoken to that plans on being there…

Everyone I’ve talked to is either planning on trying out the new TTHA show in January at Kay Bailey in Dallas… or just planning on staying home that week… and a handful are talking about going to SCI this year in lieu of DSC (if they’re traveling for one show this year, they’re choosing Nashville over Atlanta and SCI over DSC…

I know dozens of Texas DSC members that are going to Atlanta. Would like to meet up w/AH members, but will not be available evenings as we'll be at the banquets. Will be on the floor everyday - Beer at the food court?

I think its safe to say its going to be a dynamic situation (lets just make it up). Good to see enough of you fancy meeting up even if its just a drink

I will be down in Atlanta Thursday through Saturday. I think the Atlanta show will be a great opportunity to grab new hunters seeing how easy it is to get there. There are a ton of north east hunters headed down that have never gone to the Dallas show.

My brother and I are planning to attend Friday and Saturday. We’d be up for a get together. Will follow this thread to see what you come up with.

I'll be at DSC here in Atlanta. Would love to get together with fellow AHers.

Is it just me or is TTHA/SCI doing a competing event in Dallas the same weekend kinda crappy? Those of us outside TX have always supported the event in TX, but now that it's in Atlanta for a spell folks are "soft-boycotting?" Not trying to start a flame war, just thinking out loud....

I agree. They definitely have every right to have a show whenever they’d like, but the amount of individuals propping up support for this TTHA show while rooting for DSC’s failure in Atlanta is sad to me.

Who has rooted for DSCs failure?

Every comment Ive heard from those not attending DSC is essentially “I wish DSC well… Atlanta however isn’t for me “ (for a variety of reasons)…

The tone from Texans has changed since this was first announced but the overall sentiment seems the same to me. I’d likely be upset too if I lost a major show within driving distance but it seems petty to me.

Chopped up the whole thing as I kept hitting the 240 character limit...
Found out the trigger word in the end... It was muzzle or velocity. dropped them and it posted.:)

2,822fps, ES 8.2
This compares favorably to 7 Rem Mag. with less powder & recoil.

*PLEASE NOTE THAT THIS IS FOR MY RIFLE, ALWAYS APPROACH A NEW LOAD CAUTIOUSLY!!*
Rifle is a Pierce long action, 32" 1:8.5 twist Swan{Au} barrel
{You will want a 1:8.5 to run the heavies but can get away with a 1:9}
Peterson .280AI brass, CCI 200 primers, 56.5gr of 4831SC, 184gr Berger Hybrid.

I know that this thread is more than a year old but as a new member I thought I would pass along my .280AI loading.
I am shooting F Open long range rather than hunting but here is what is working for me and I have managed a 198.14 at 800 meters.
That is for 20 shots. The 14 are X's which is a 5" circle.
