CZ 550 stock change

As mentioned in other threads. I bought a Bell and Carlson American stock to replace the factory wood.


Old specs LOP 13-7/8”
9.4 pounds

New 13-11/16” LOP
9.0 pounds even.

I picked this less than flashy color because I thought it remotely resembles elephant hide.

Now to find a peep or red dot sight for it.

For some reason, the wood and the synthetic stock look lighter in color than they really are

my team wants to bow or ML hunt and back at the Stormy camp :>)))
Last year I didn’t even break out my Recurve because I was helping my son-in-law trying to get an elk.
In fact, the last two hunts in your camp I never carried a weapon. I was always focused on helping somebody else get their elk.

So I could do the same thing, take it and leave it in the tent :>)))

And the QD mount from American hunting rifles.

Now to get that dialed in.

and start looking for an elephant hunt.

Mmm....trying to work the difference in length from 7/8th to 11/16th.....

How do you like your B&C stock when shooting compared to the factory stock?

I like the design, texture and the ability to customize it. It’s got aluminum pillers and does not need any bedding work It won’t crack from recoil. It’s the same stock CZ used on the American 550 model

It’s a .416 Rigby The barreled action dropped in perfectly. Remember, this is the exact stock that CZ used and sold. Usually green with black webbing.

The difference between 7/8& 11/16 is 3/16
AHR has a new non QD base sets the Red Dot much lower. I modified one to work on a Heym Martini express
