Credit Card Foreign Currency Exchange Fees

How often are you flying? Airline cards sound great but for most people a card that pays cash back without a yearly fee and has no foreign transaction fees is a better deal. I use an airline card for my business because I fly frequently and the points have some tax advantages over cash back, but for personal cards I don’t fly enough and use a cash back card instead. Bank of America travel card and Amazon Prime card are good travel cards to me. There are lots other options that are nearly equal. I’d rather get 1% cash back available anytime than 1% in airline points that I can only use sporadically.

Good question, and I don't fly often so you've given me something to consider. Of the two you mention, do you have a preference? That BofA card is mentioned on Motley Fool as one of several top travel cards recently.

I prefer the Amazon card. It has a few more travel protections built in and I find redeeming points on Amazon convenient. The Bank of America travel card is good but a bit more limited what you can redeem the points for, just travel purchases. I really only use them both as travel cards. I use cards that pay more cash back for most purchases at home, but I don’t use those cards outside US because they charge 3% foreign transaction fee.

Which one do you have experience with?
USE MY DEBIT CARD TO WITHDRAW CASH / NO FEES AND MYQUICKSILVER (THINK IT IS 1.5% CASH BACK) WITH NO FEES FOR ALL PURCHASES

I don’t have one but capital one quicksilver looks like a good all around card. 1.5% cash back, no yearly fee, or foreign transaction fee. Spending $500 to get $200 bonus is easy too.

I am going to update my prior response. I use two credits cards regularly and one in reserve for emergency. My two main cards are (1) Chase BA Visa - no foreign fees and (2) Amex Platinum Card -no foreign fees. If you transfer the points to a foreign carrier frequent flyer program, you will avoid the IRS surtaxes.

For a ATM card, I use a Schwab Debt card that rebates foreign ATM fees.

Not sure your price range. Have a 375 H&H with a muzzle brake. Nice rifle only fired a few times. Also a Mossberg 375 Ruger its been used and shows a few hunts on it.
