Ethiopia has one confirmed case.

Kenya and I believe a couple of other African countries have stopped inbound flights from Ethiopia. Addis Abba is a gateway from China into Africa. It seems African countries, after a month, are finally figuring this out. This is good news. Hopefully it is not to late.

It seems to me its like walking at night in lion country without any means of protecting yourself. A number of problems could arise, some of which could be life altering in a bad way. If your life would be negatively altered by a bad or worst case scenario probably not worth the risk to me. PS I wont book my ticket for June safari due to uncertainties at this time.

South Africa where I fly to on way to Namibia is apparently issuing restrictions today. I’m set to leave in 78 hours.

Can’t get in touch with PH as of yet but have a few email out to him. Hoping for a response ASAP.

Yeah, tough situation. And even if there aren't any restrictions in place when you board the plane, it is a long flight, and there is always the risk that you could be spending your safari in detention/quarantine....

Given the news that flights from Qatar, Germany and Ethiopia are being stopped until April 14th, my own trip seems to be a bust as well. :-(

Thanks to Philip with Khomas highlands for calling me and helping all to get squared away. They seem like a class act and are very helpful. Hope to meet them in person soon and see Namibia soon after this passes.

Yep, the only place I see left open to fly to RSA at the moment is Atlanta. But will it be in a day when RSA makes there announcements, or a week when I had planned on flying, or three when I planned on coming back? Tough one there.

And my outfitter from the past in Namibia are in Canada right now going to a show wondering if they can get home in a week or two.

Well Lufthansa cancelled my flights on Tuesday. Rebooked on Wednesday with Delta. After Trump's speech Wednesday night I cancelled my trip with great reluctance. Now I am glad I did as I would have got there but unlikely I would have got home. Hope this BS is figured out by June.
