I have a Cape Buffalo and Eland shoulder mount that I have no place in my home to display properly. Can the horns be salvaged from the shoulder mount and added to a skull that was intended for a shoulder mount and it turn out reasonable looking? If this is even a reasonable thought, which I’m not so certain of, I would need a Taxidermist within the radius between Montgomery and Atlanta for it to even be worth my while. Thanks in advance for any information you may have.

I have no idea but @gizmo may give you an idea if it’s feasible.

Where are you located? Apologies if your location is in your profile but my phone doesn’t show it.

Didnt see @Wyfox post , that sounds like a plan.

I’m in the Eufaula AL vicinity. Are the forms and skins on my shoulder mounts worth anything in trade to the taxidermist?

I grew up in Auburn, I waterfowl hunted lake Eufaula and the refuge religiously for many, many years!

Wish I could put your shoulder mount on my horns....

You are actually going to have to ask a taxidermist about this.

Very easily done with reproduction skulls. On the eland you could even use a real skull and just swap the horns.

I'll take the Vortex scope cover you have listed in the Pay it Forward thread.
