Calgary African hunting shows

My friend and I are looking to book a hunt for the spring of 2017 . I was wondering how many of you outfitters are thinking of going to one of these shows this year ( jan 2016) ? We would like to sit and talk face to face with the guy we book a hunt with. ( old fashioned that way I guess ) . I know that paw print and Jan Oelofse amongst others were ther last year . Albertaguy start emailing Pieter at Paw Print and tell him what you and your friend plan to do. He will be more than happy to help you in advance.
Whatever you do make sure to talk to others who have hunted with the outfitter.

If I can weigh in, I've hunted with Wintershoek Safaris a number of times, and think very highly them (in fact, will be there again in about three weeks). I have no interest in them other than as a hunter. Like a few other outfitters, they've come to every Calgary show (at the Carriage House). I think those of us in this neck of the woods should - other things being equal - book with those who care enough to come to us. Costs them money, and it needs to be encouraged.

I really appreciate the opportunity to meet outfitters face to face. I met the outfitter in Calgary that I eventually hunted with. My wife and I really enjoyed our trip/hunt with Hotfire Hunting and Fishing Safaris. We consider Patrick and Jennifer to be our friends. We keep in touch regularly.

I always plan to be there. However, this year I am booked for back surgery on the 20th, so I'm not sure I can make it.

We will be exhibiting at the Calgary show and it would be great to meet up with fellow AH hunters. We are fairly new to AH and it will be nice to get to know some of the AH family.
