Bullets that well advertised but were not that great

$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$.....talks. I've been told that the new bonded ones in many cases pancake and don't penetrate properly. Meaning they stay together but over expand.
That’s the first mention of that I’ve heard. I haven’t shot game with them but my last hunt when discussing bullets, the PHs commented poor weight retention on DGX compared to others.

I don't hunt with them but several PH's in Mozambique (last Sept) tell me they have seen this type of failure.

Sounds like a good cat load?

@Rule 303
We sent 22lr ammo all over the word under the Winchester brand.
The black box sub sonic and high velocity hollow point in 42gn shoot less than half inch at 50 yards in my old Bruno No2. Best groups so far at 50 off the bench with it so far in that old rifle are 0.172" for five shots. After that I went to the gun shop and bought every round they had with the same batch number.

The 22 Winchester Dynapoint semi-hollow points in the blue box were monotonously accurate on turtle heads poking up out of the water at 70 yards. Have exactly one box left from all the 5 dollar bricks I bought back in the early 80's.

The old Dynapoint and power point 22s accounted for a lt of bunnies and other game here in Australia.

My dad took countless bunnies and ground hogs with those! I might have even taken a few whitetails with them too...

thanks for your reply bob , is it feasible to build a 444 on a P14/M17 , or is the no4 enfield easier to build? i know where i can buy a lothar walther barrel in 44, 1-38 twist , but i think with a barrel crown of .650" the profile is too light .
