Hi

I would like to know if my equipment is fine for large plains game.

MY EQUIPMENT:
Bow : Diamond Razor Edge
Arrow : Easton FMJ 340 500 grains
Speed : 210 FPS
KE : 47ke

I would also like a list of what plains game animals I can harvest with my bow.

Replies will really be appreciated

Cheers

Dox,

What is your draw length and what pounds are the bow set at.

I am expecting a lot more speed out of the Razor edge but it depends on the answers...

Add a quality cut on impact broadhead to your heavy arrows and you are good to go for any plains game.

I shot kudu, gemsbok, zebra, impala and warthogs with my bow. I had no problem with penetration on the larger animals.

I shot a matthews switchback set at 58 pounds with 450 grain arrows. Montec broadheads.

I shoot a 23.5 inch draw length
And really honestly shoot 67 pounds

.
Very important ! Make sure your arrows fly straight and that your shot placement is flawless. Keep hunting distances to less than 25 y if possible. Make sure your Bow is quiet. Good luck.

Made it to Augusta Georgia yesterday for a meeting, hunt bookings are looking good for 2026 and 2027, had a great time on our Alabama safari shot a rutting deer at 200 yards with 7mm PRC near Huntsville and then headed on to Butler Alabama and semi guided my first deer ever shot a very nice broken off 8 point with hunter there and spend a few days on 1100 acres hunting preserve awesome place!

I am righthanded, so not interested in the rifle, but I have a 375 RUM and 350 gr bullet loading data is very hard to come by. If you could reply with information regarding your loads I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you, Ray Boone, Leavenworth, WA
