A large box arrived recently at my home containing the euro mounts from my Botswana hunt. Other than some minor damage to a BW mount that can easily be repaired with a bit of glue the mounts were all in good condition. Thank goodness for bubble wrap!

The journey the box took was from Maun to SA by truck and then onward through Turkey to NY and finally shipped FedEx to my home.

I used Matt Mayers (http://www.genuslogistics.com/) as the customs agent again and I am very pleased with his service.

Congratulations on getting the shipment. I'd enjoy seeing some pictures of them when you get a chance.

Where did you hunt in Botswana?

This trip I hunted with an outfit called Bokamoso. They have a large property that borders the CKGR and get a good bit of elephant and lion intrusion from that area (elephants make big holes in fences). There are some ties between Tholo and Bokamoso such as some common ownership and shared PHs. Tholo is a bit bigger total piece of property but Bokomoso has a bigger hunting area as it is 100% wild. We encountered lion, leopard (daylight!), and elephant in our little walks through the thorns. Interesting way to spend a few days.

What, there are no Elephants or Lions left in Botswana. The President said so.
The hunting community is small in Botswana for sure.

What did you manage to hunt?

Congrats. Pictures shared would be great!

Congrats, look forward to some pics

Good news on the trophies getting back. Pics would be nice. Stories of the hunt would be even better. Bruce

Congrats! Can't wait to see pictures!

My camera case and all of the sd cards from the hunt were "lost" at the JNB airport on the layover for the return trip. I had the camera case in a jacket pocket when we arrived from Maun and it was simply gone when we boarded the flight back to ATL. A tired traveler is an easy mark at JNB.

I would trade the euro mounts for those pictures in a heartbeat.

It was a good hunt. I will not shoot from or near the truck so it was a whole lot of walking and a bit of crawling through those hooked thorns. An old eland with a big body and worn horns was the main focus for me. I found the old fellow one morning. A good kudu and gemsbok along with a beat-up old warthog and average BW and impala rounded out the bag. Most shots were inside of 100 yards or so with my .375.

I'm unfortunately on a diet. Presently in VA hospital as Agent Orange finally caught up with me. Cancer and I no longer can speak. If all goes well I'll be out of here and back home in Thailand by end of July. Tough road but I'm a tough old guy. I'll make it that hunt.

Nice one there. I guided for mulies and elk for about 10 or so years in northern New Mexico.
