My wife, my brothers, and I are heading to Botswana in May to hunt plains game with @NKWE SAFARIS and are looking for some sightseeing prior to our safari to help us acclimate to the new time zone and see some different stuff. We are looking for 2-3 nights most likely and am looking at something in the Moremi Game Reserve and Okavango Delta. has anyone done anything like this and have any advice or firsthand experience?

Aaron you can either book into a lodge and do day trips into Moremi and surrounds or fly into one of the many camps and go on 2 daily game drives or option 3 hire a 4x4 and do some self drives.
it all depends on your budget but @Nkwe can assist you with this.

We spent the night at Elephant Sands which is awesome. The elephants have the right of way, so you just give them their space as they walk by. You stay in luxury tents and can hear them during the night as they come to drink. Meals are served outdoors over looking the water hole.
Then the boat cruises out of Kasane are well worth the trip up there. I'd go back and do the ride on the Chobe in a heart beat. Great experience.
Just depends on where you are landing at, that would probably be a factor on where you go?

I did a photo safari with my wife in Chobe and it was wonderful. Two or three days is perfect. If you fly into Kasane, it's a very short drive. We stayed at the Chobe Game Lodge, which is inside the park.

My best side trip in Botswana was driving and camping through the parks from Maun to Kasane. We ran the cut lines back through the safari areas which was super interesting.

Might consider a helicopter ride over the delta out of Maun. Not that expensive and you get to see a lot of animals and areas fairly quickly.

Agreed, we did this in a 206, great experience.
