I would like to get a one piece bottom metal for a Classic Stainless Winchester 70 that is going into a new stock.

The Winchester original is the Williams but seems to be unobtainable. The PTG is available but I have heard of challenges with the oberndorf release being difficult to use. Which way should I go? Is it realistic to think I can find a Williams one piece stainless long action bottom metal?

Sunnyhill or Blackburn (from Swift)?

Hmmm, is there anything classic about stainless? This should start something.

I responded to your other thread. I believe Blackburn has what you need but you won't get bottom metal from anyone for $250. Add $200. Probably more for stainless. Good luck.

I have three rifles with PTG bottom metal in aluminum. I’ve been quite happy with its fit and function. Not to mention price point.

I need to know if this is legit. Photo with today's paper would do it.
