Any recent experience on Condor airline USA->Frankfurt->Joberg with rifle?

Though I'd prefer to fly Qatar, the price for Condor is very low for the dates I'm looking at in 2026. Does anyone have experience checking a rifle for USA to Frankfurt to Johannesburg with all flights on Condor?

I saw some earlier threads that seemed to be around connecting to different airline in Frankfurt, but my travel would all be on Condor.
