It's a tough book to find. I had one 10+ years ago and sold it. It took me a long time to find another copy. If you find one, it won't be cheap...hundreds of dollars is normal. It's a very large study on all of the forest duikers.

Do you know any way to get any of these duiker’s hides?

Not sure if you mean Head Skins/Capes, Full body skins for mounting or flat skins ?

I know I felt bad leaving the Maxwell’s skin & only took the skull, it was softish hair almost like a fur, much different from normal Duikers I have taken.

I meant to ask—if the hides (of any size) from these duikers are plentiful there, is it possible for a hunter to bring them back to the United States? Or do they require special permits, paperwork, or CITIS documentation? I mean you hunt a duiker and bring more hides with you.

The reason I'm asking is that I would like to obtain and possibly purchase them. It would be a huge favor if someone could bring a few back and offer them for sale. I recently bought a nice common duiker hide from Africa and a dik-dik hide from within the States, and I’m looking to add more to my collection.

Wait… what? You left Maxwell’s skin? Why? Why? Why? I would have paid you for it!

So you mean a flat skin, actually would look nice & never thought of taking the small antelopes hides.

Also there are a few Duikers listed on CITES & some or all will need paperwork, I think Blue is one of them ?

Oh just saw your next post, well I can’t afford to get things full body mounted & I was doing all the caping & skinning plus pushed for time on this & getting the hides dry, just didn’t take it & my Bushbuck was lost till late the next day (dam Buckshot & shotguns) so it’s cape/skin was ruined .

Blue duikers are just incredible, delicate little creatures. I hope to take one while hunting leopard in Moz with Panther Trackers. I know many have been taken by AH forum members. Let's see some of those blue duikers!

I have a Chapuis 450-400 double that looks brand new and shoots well, never been hunted from what I can tell. I am willing to part with it as I have a 375 H&H Sodia on it's way from Dorleac & Dorleac. I am looking for $9,250 for it and if you are interested, I am happy to send you some pictures. Regards,
Steve
