Another Clothing Question

In my experience although expensive the thick cotton Westley Richards shirts and pants have been the best keeping Tetsee flies from biting through
Fortunately tetse flies don’t like the way I taste! In Mozambique they drove my PH crazy and pretty much left me alone. Thankful that they did, one bit me on the hand and I thought someone put a cigarette out on my hand.

You can swish all you want with a gnu tail, but they will find a spot, like the edge of your back that does NOT rest against the seat cushion and nail you. The PH would usually not kill them, but once and a while he would catch one and pull its wings off for spite.

I picked up an all-cotton shirt at the Safari Outdoor store in Pretoria last year which I particularly like. It is the Serengeti shirt by Ruggedwear. It gets softer every time I wash it but still has enough heft to drape well. More importantly, it is roomy in the belly area so the shirt isn't tight across my midriff.

I was in Safari Outdoor a couple of weeks ago, I should’ve looked for shirts especially ones with plenty of room in the belly!

Nice! I have given away all my safari hunting shirts without a vent. Cotton with a vent in the back has proven to be the best for me in both short and long sleeves.

If you spending any time in South Africa go to a Jonssons Workwear outlet. Most farmers/hunters in SA would shop there.

They stock stretch cotton long sleeve and short sleeve, long cotton pants in olive, dark brown, and khaki and if desirous, those very short hunting shorts that your ph wears !

Great business and good service.

Here's a photo of Tony receiving that Shaw & Hunter award at the 1970 annual EAPHA Dinner Dance. Tony Dyer, then EAPHA President and Princess (Sunny) von Auersperg presented it. I also attended the event.

Good Afternoon,
How firm are you on your Dakota 416? I am highly interested but looking at a few different guns currently.

Best,
BJ

What is the minimum you would take.
