Sierra game kings are fine, accurate and usually deadly deer bullets but they are not in the same class as Swift A frames. I’d use Swift A Frames every time vs Sierra game king.
If available I'd suggest the Swift A Frame over those boat tails. I personally use 140 gr Barnes TTSX handloads in my 7mm-08 and they drop caribou with ease. I'd take it to Africa for anything up to kudu.Any thoughts on sierra game kings or swift A frames?
Ive never been to Africa, frankly I’ve never hunted out of the south in US. But I’ll be curious to see how some of these bullets shoot out of my rifle and how much adjustment there will be. You need to be careful with wanted ads here because they attract scammers, but you might consider trying to have a member here put together a sample pack of different 7mm bullets for you instead of buying a whole box of 50.Ive never been to Africa, frankly I’ve never hunted out of the south in US. I will say the one time I used this bullet on anything of very large size was a 1700lb charlaite bull that broke 2 legs. I shot it in the head at 50 yards and it was the worst shooting decision I ever made. It took 3 more to finish the job.I 2nd everyone’s advice to use a tougher bullet. Deer and Hogs are relatively light compared to African game like zebra, wildebeest, gemsbok. The vitals are also further forward in Africa. You need a bullet that can hold up to a shoulder shot and continue to penetrate. If you like Nosler already an Accubond seems like good choice. Swift Scirocco, Federal Fusion, Norma Oryx, Barnes TTSX would all be good choices too. I really enjoy watching this YouTube channel. You’ll see Nosler Ballistic tips didn’t hold up to gel in test let alone bone on game. Here are a few good videos. He’s got more with other bullets.
I am impressed with my results from a 7mm-08. After burning a case of 139gn soft points I started loading 120gn Nosler BT for shooting pests from the car. Feral pigs included.Ive never been to Africa, frankly I’ve never hunted out of the south in US. I’ll find out more info on dates. It may be a while before we do this hunt as the hunt includes a group of up to 6I am impressed with my results from a 7mm-08. After burning a case of 139gn soft points I started loading 120gn Nosler BT for shooting pests from the car. Feral pigs included.
I like 7mm’s in general.
I used the outfitters 7mmRm in South Africa and he supplied hand loads with Hornady SST’s.
The Barnes TTSX is being suggested by plenty of experienced members
If you decide to go with a mono projectile give the barrel a good clean a seat with some jump as a starting point.
I will be interested to see a thread on your hunt.

Swift A Frames in general are awesome. I hope someone who knows about the Game Kings will speak up.Any thoughts on sierra game kings or swift A frames?
I’m going to try Barnes TTSX and the maker Accubond!Swift A Frames in general are awesome. I hope someone who knows about the Game Kings will speak up.
I have been completely focused on .500 cal. and bigger for buffalo in the last 7 years.
Michael458 may soon chip in about CEB Safari Raptors in 7mm. He is brilliant on Terminal Ballistics.
i found some factory loaded A frames for 80$ a box 7mm08 but I do love hand loadingI’ve used game kings on some mule deer. They are outstanding and I wouldn’t hesitate to use them.
I still believe there are better options for Africa hunting. The thing to remeber is that you may start out for impala but find a big zebra stallion. The tougher bullet will be invaluable in situations such as this.
Also you ph will tell you “on the shoulder” which may end up hitting a big bone. Another situation where tougher bullets are important. That’s why so many hunters on here are suggesting a more robust projectile. A frame is the golden child —if you can find them!

I’m going to try Barnes TTSX and the maker Accubond!
May I suggest that you google the Terminal Performance of Accubond bullets. ( Especially retained weight.)I’m going to try Barnes TTSX and the maker Accubond!
Hammer Bullets out in Montana will sell you trial packs of thirteen. They make quite a variety of copper bullets. Get pretty good reviews too.I’d love to chat with a trusted member and buy 5-8 of a few options to try out.
You don’t need 100% weight retention for PG. I do like high weight retention bullets, but if sufficient weight remains and core stays intact they continue to penetrate. The shed weight also makes additional wound channels. There’s nothing wrong with Accubond at 7mm-08 velocities. These are from kudu and gemsbok with 300 win. Around 60% weight retention. Many passed through.May I suggest that you google the Terminal Performance of Accubond bullets. ( Especially retained weight.)
Also check out how the Barnes performs when it hits an animal at sharp angle.
