.577 NE 3" Brass Alternative

I was lucky enough to source 40 pcs of Bertram Brass for my soon to be delivered double rifle. Brass availability being what it is, I'm trying to figure out alternative ways to shoot my rifle without putting wear on my actual .577 Nitro brass.

Something I recently thought of was running very light cast loads in some Magtech 24 gauge brass (2.5"). I understand that this brass is not built to run at high pressures, but if I keep the pressures down, I think this may work for light plinking loads (even if they don't regulate).

If anyone has tried something similar, or have any thoughts on the feasibility of Magtech 24 gauge brass in a .577 Nitro, please post your thoughts!

Not exactly an answer to your question, but .577 NE being a straight wall case you should get a lot of loads out of each piece of brass. Especially if you anneal them every 3-5 loadings.

Have you tried RCC brass? Excellent machined brass. Made to order so available in any quantity over 50.

Unfortunately, I haven’t had good luck with RCC brass. My wife ordered me some for an xmas present back in October. Still haven’t received them, and communication from them when asked about status has been nonexistent.

Agreed...I was really excited when I found out about RCC brass (knowing RMC is actively being sold). Even though they are expensive, it would have been nice to know at least one source of brass for any rifle available. I really hope RCC brass can understand the basics of customer service and turn things around, not only for me, but for everyone else.
