The largest practical caliber for a double rifle . Better stopping power and sectional density than the .470 Nitro Express . And better penetration and less recoil than the .577 Nitro Express or .600 Nitro Express .

.... I hit a pie tin at 25 yards with it on both shots and didn't fall over or otherwise make a fool of myself. Recoil was horrendous....

Recoil actually is very manageable with practice.
