Please give me a bit of education on the 450 Ackley…I was looking a a very fine used one at a local Bass Pro…nice looking rifle and just a bit of web searching seems to say that in a pinch you can fire 450 (?) Lott in it.
I don’t think I’ve ever seen a posting about this caliber on this Forum. I have Mr. PO Ackley books in cartridges and it seems to be a “quite capable” round. Why no love or discussion on this cartridge? What are its short comming?

It’s short coming is obscurity and lack of head stamped brass.

You can fire both .458Win & .458Lott in a .450Ackley rifle.

The chambering is fairly popular in Zimbabwe from what the PHs told me, and for the reason that you can can use both Win & Lott ammo.

There are lots of obscure calibers in Zimbabwe, apparently back in the days of lax travel regulations, hunters from the USA used it as a dumping ground for oddball calibers by giving these guns to PHs as tips instead of cash.

I have been using a "Personal Property" rider on my State Farm homeowner's policy to cover guns when I travel with them.
I have several firearms, but only one is worth over $20K (A Heym double rifle).
Very interested.
Would firearms be covered for damage, as well as, complete loss?
I'll can let the State Farm rider cover my watches...
