First hiccup, the case holder is too big for both the presses I have. Easy solution would be to remove a little material off the outside of the shell holder so the screw holes are accessible. 99% sure i am gonna go this route but gonna think about it for the day.

Did a little grinding and can reload now

I think the claw extractor spring is worn out though. Gun was not extracting test cases, the claw was stuck down so i lifted it with a flat head and the put a little lube and it seems to be functioning fine. However by default it doesnt seem to pop up all the way. @teklanika_ray you encounter this in any of the other cz550s you have tinkered with?

What i would expect it to look like, this is after I lift it with a flathead

Problem happens when I run the bolt several times with no round in the chamber. The extractor get stuck in a down position and then doesnt catch the shell on the way out. Any ideas/help appreciated

No, I have not experienced that exact problem. It could be your brass (I have had difficulty extracting brass when utilizing once fired brass in a different firearm). I can't imagine that extractor is wore out.

Hey @teklanika_ray, the issue is the extractor slides forward which disengaged it from the spring, or at least that is my current working g theory. If you have an action this is not in a gun can you take a Pic of the underside of the extractor? Curious if it is straight ot slightly bent like mine.

From looking at the replacement part the bend looks normal, however the part moving back and forth in my gun seems like an issue.

Ok, pretty sure a pin is missing which is why the extractor is wiggling around

Cases or reloaded ammo? Id size and load a few dummy cases for test.

As for the bolt i always take apart used rifles and have had a few extractor probles was always rusty old springs. Id min take apart clean and scrub springs and other parts that dont usually get cleaned.
And or order new springs.

Cases are bran new, 2 different brands same issue. Problem is the extractor ends up disengaging from the spring because the pin is missing

Do you just want to sell it back to me?? I can say I never had any issue with it. Not one failure, but if you are having these kind of issues, maybe just sell it back to me or take it to a qualified gunsmith. If it was an issue I passed on I'll pay for the repairs, if it is an issue you caused you pay for the repairs. Sounds good?

Jerome, do you think my last post in rough camping must maybe shift as an article?

Good afternoon,

I'm trying to get in contact with Mr Butch Searcy. I have the opportunity to buy one of his rifles chambered in 577 nitro Express however the seller does not have any of the paperwork with the information about what ammunition or bullet weight was used to regulate it. I know he is not making firearms anymore but I wanted to reach out after seeing one of your post about him.

Hi - the only (best) method of sending you the .375/06IMP data is with photographing my book notes. My camera died so the only way I can do it is with my phone. To do that, I would need your e-mail address, as this
new Android phone is too complicated to upload to my desk computer, which would be easier and to down-grade, reduce the file sizes.
Best wishes
Daryl
