In 375H&H, what would be your choice of 300gr bullet manufactured cartridges for heavy game, in particular Buffalo, but also Eland or Sable: Duo DGX/DGS or TSX?
Note that A-Frame is out of scope, impossible to find any Federal apart Power-Shok...

I take it that you don't reload. Is there any other ammo.available! Which does your rifle shoot best? That's your answer.

Don’t like DGX
Swift can go pound sand ( like they have told hunters for years)
Barns vortex 300gr TSX is a good option

TSX of the options you listed but A Frames good when available, stock up when you find them

For Buffalo definitely a TSX - For thin skinned game like and eland or a sable, I'd use a nosler accubond

A frames if you can, then tsx. Killed everything I hit with my 375 with 300 gr tsx without issue.

I used factory 300 grs Barnes TSX successfully on my 2022 Safari, and shot everything with that bullet. From Warthog the smallest, (Kudu, Bushbuck, Nyala, Red Hartebeest, Black Wildebeest and a Lioness), up to a cow Buffalo. No issues at all with any of the animals I shot using the 300 grs TSX.

DGX bonded is a good bullet. As is TSX & Swift. Buffalo won't care which one.

North Forks if you can roll your own.

Thanks to all - no AF available in France - best bet seems to be TSX but very intrigued by DGX bonded - any experience with it ?

Tsx are my fav and readily available

PHs have mixed opinions on it. I’ve met PHs that have made their clients use camp ammo on buffalo because they don’t trust DGX on buffalo in 375. All DGX have been bonded for a few years. It has been used on a lot of successful buffalo hunts though. TSX is tougher bullet but over penetration can be a concern if hunting buffalo herds.

TSX would be my clear choice. If reloading, Swift A Frames, Nosler Partition or Northfork SS would all be excellent choices in addition to TSX.

Federal lists 300Gr Swift A Frame factory loads as currently available.

Between the two bullets that you list, I’m a Barnes TSX man all the way.

The only African game animal which I would not employ it against, are lions & leopards (esp. those shot over bait). For that, I personally prefer lead cored soft points. The new Hornady DGX Bonded would be completely ideal for these two species. But they (the new Bonded variants) are also incredibly suitable for hunting Cape buffalo.

Hey Odinsraven. Is that post from Jefferry 404 legitimate? I don't know him. Thanks!

I have no idea the shipping cost from here to Costa Rica. I can do my research on shipping and get back with you later today.

I didn't see your request re: ship co’s. My last shipment was 2023. Quotes from SBS Logistics ($1,198), Badger Cargo ($1,184 - used them) & AHG Trophy Shippers ($1,746). AHG owner's an asshole so wouldn't have used him anyway. Eastern Cape - Houston, TX, so your mileage may vary. NEVER use Karl Human Taxidermy aka Wild Africa Taxidermy on Eastern Cape. Trophies arrived shattered with no padding/packing material.
