As of this morning Midway had the Barnes 338 Win mag with the 225 Barnes TTSX available for $73 for a box of 20.

A friend tried to buy them out of them but there were still available right now.

THANKS for the heads up! TWO box limit. I just bought two. Haven't seen these at that price (or mostly ANY price) anywhere in FOUR years! @JimP buy two boxes as they won't fit in your .340 WEATHERBY MAGNUM and I'll pay you for them when you deliver them to me. COD. LOL

My friend had his wife, brother, and father in law buy some for him. And I wouldn't put it past him to get some of his coworkers to do so.

When I saw them in stock at Midway I checked Barnes site and they didn't have any. I haven't looked at any other site since I don't need them.

I got a "notify me" ping from Swift a couple of weeks ago that they had their loaded 250gr. A Frames in .338WM for $129/box. At that price they can keep them! They had been $102/box awhile back.

I've picked up enough Barnes 338 225grain TTSX bullets to last me a very long time.

I also resupplied my other calibers that shoot them over the last few months, so I think that I am set.

I even found another thousand primers in my old reloading room closet, along with a few other surprises that I can use.

At the most I might need some powder in 2 or 3 years.

I just received my two boxes from Midway. It's Barnes stamped brass too. A Barnes rep emailed me over a year ago after I asked about the .338WM cartridge shortage and stated they were having a difficult time sourcing the brass for that cartridge at that time. I guess they've sorted it out.

Mate I've been telling you for years now. Get rid of that 338 winpchester magnone and get a nice 35 Whelen.it will do more than that useless little 338 and you will never run out of ammo or components.
Please stat listening to sage advice and stop complaining about the lack of availability of your beloved cartridge.
Mate once again GET A WHELEN.

Yeah, but my big bore hero Elmer Keith helped developed the .338 WINCHESTER MAGNUM. Do you want me to abandon his efforts and contributions to the best elk cartridge ever developed? Sacrilege! LOL

I use their 225 grain bullets for plinking but I use their original 300 grain bullets for killing in an a square which holds 25 more grains powder (and a thousand foot pounds more energy than a 375!). I suppose I could sell some 225 grain bullets for 10 cents under Midway. The 338 WM isn't all that powerful.

I'll buy a couple of boxes of your factory FRESH Barnes 225gr. .338 WINCHESTER MAGNUM ammo for $50/box plus FREE shipping. They're no use for you anyway shooting groundhogs in Pennsylneckvania (as I've told me wife's relatives there) as you have your .35 Whelen for that. Townsend @Bob Nelson 35Whelen told me to use a good 250gr. Woodleigh for killing ANYTHING with the Whelen, especially groundhogs. If you wound them they just go back into their holes and more of them come out eating your tomato plants later. LOL

I just checked Midway. They're gone and now on "notify me" status. Glad I bought two boxes when I did.

That's all good but Elmer loved the great Colonels 35 to the extent he killed his world record bear with it with 275gn projectiles.
So good ol Elmer loved the Whelen.

I'll still take my .340 Weatherby

Yes Bob, but that's BEFORE he helped develop the .338 WINCHESTER MAGNUM even before 1958 when it became a commercialized cartridge. I'm sure Elmer Keith thought to himself after he shot that bear, " Wow, I could of had a .338WM instead of a Whelen?" Silly me! LOL

He only developed. The 338 so the Whelen had some competition.
Note I said some not the equal .
The only reason the 338 took off was the usual bullshit advertising. They said look how well we sold that oissant 243 with bullshit wonder if we can do the same with the 338 magnone and they did.
If the advertised the Whelen as much the 338 would not have made it past the starting gate.

Hallo Marius- do you have possibilities for stags in September during the roar? Where are your hunting areas in Romania?

Love your rifle! I'm needing a heavier rifle for Africa. Sold my .375 Dakota Safari several trips ago. Would you have any interest in a trade of some sort involving the custom 338/06 I have listed here on the site ( I have some room on my asking price. I also have a large quantity of the reloading components and new Redding dies as well as a box of A-Square Dead Tough ammo.
