What to do if fellow AH member has not mailed a product that was paid for

I recently paid for a product that i bought from a fellow AH member and he has not mailed the product to me. I FedEx the payment to him and the fellow AH member has yet to mail the product to me. ANY and all suggestions are greatly welcomed
 
Can you give more details? You mailed payment a month ago or yesterday afternoon? He received it? He’s answering emails, texts, or phone calls? He has ghosted you? What is he telling you?

Without this, I don’t see how we could offer any meaningful advice…
 
Was the AH member vouched for by anyone? Maybe reach out to that person and they can make contact. Have you tried following up with a call or text?

There have been more than a few scams lately on AH. Most get flagged pretty quickly, but that doesn’t mean some don’t slip through.
 
Was it a regular member with hundreds or posts? Or was it a new guy with 3 posts and 2 of them are selling something? I only purchase from established members.

Happy to expand...... I mailed the payment two weeks ago and he received it on tuesday 9/29 and was in contact as of this past weekend and "promised" that he would mail on Tuesday. He has since ghosted me and has not replied to any direct messages from me. He was very insistent that i sent him the tracking ( which i did ) but i have received nothing in return

that is very good question i fear that it was a newer member but i think was scammed
 
I don’t think there’s anything you can do except be more cautious next time. I look at the quality of posts a member makes and call on phone before I consider buying from them. Definitely report member and leave negative feedback on references thread.
 
Member for 6 weeks. 17 posts. I don't see any posts selling anything. Did he post a "for sale" post? You either got scammed or he has gotten sick, accident etc.

Scammers are good at building their post count. They get posts up with “welcome to AH” and posts on Lighter note thread. Hundreds of BS posts doesn’t mean much. It’s the quality. Generally pretty easy to see who is a real hunter or shooter and who is questionable. I’ve been pretty good at predicting scammers and reporting them. An inactive ghost account suddenly starts making out of place posts on dead threads in addition to the other 2 mentioned.

I think you were scammed.

Have you tried contacting your bank to cancel payment if possible or inquire as to the institution it was cashed/deposited by? Did you FaceTime before buying? What was the name on the check?
 
He tried me too. He smelled fishy and I reported him days ago as a suspected scammer. These bottom feeders just boil my blood. He was obviously clueless about the item he tried to sell, unwilling to FaceTime… All big red flags… I wish i ran into him sooner and reported him sooner. I am sorry for your loss.
 
Thank you all for your help and yes i was taken...... I have bought dozens and dozens of things and have never been taken but i guess there is a first time for everything. If any one has any 404 Jeffery Woodleigh Hyrdo solids with no tips i would be very interested in them

Sorry it’s happened. Usually a lot of members somehow could be verified by another through some form of connection.
