UPDATE!!!! Please read!!
You know the old saying if it’s too good to be true it probably is, well that’s what this gun has turned out to be!
I found the gun on Gunbroker like I said. Description was pretty plain not lots details.
So I called the Gunshop selling it. It was a consignment piece. They answered my question's and we made the deal. Not thru Gunbroker. It was sold as is no returns.
No big deal.
Well. Since consignment they had not inspected it as in removing from stock.
When it arrived the other day I was pretty busy and have been. I just did a once over and scoped barrel. All looked good.
Well today I had time and decided remove from stock and check it real good. When I pulled the action screws and removed floor plate my heart sank and it got worse after removing the action.
Some wanna be amateur it appears gunsmith probably 15 years ago from looks of it. Tried to piller and glass bed it. I have seen two year olds do better with play dough from the way it looks inside. On top of that there is a big crack around front piller going up into the recoil lug area and it show up on the outside in front of the action screw. Someone tried to repair long ago it looks like and did one shitty job. Rear tang is just as bad.
The stock is basically toast, useless to try repair with all that’s going on in it. I have never seen so much excess glass bed in places.
So. I have me a donor barreled action for a project. Cut, thread for suppressor.
Restock with most likely an HS precision or maybe a Bell Carlson if want to convert to one piece floorplate. May send have Cerakote while at it.
It lost its collector value so might as well make something out of it.
Just wanted update you all.
