I haven't been to Africa yet but I plan to go soon. I've been passively looking for a double but have recently gotten more serious. I've been on the hunt for a used one (still looking) but the more I think about it, the more I realize how great it would be to have one made just for me. I've been talking with Jerome with Rigby about a custom Shikari and I'm trying to decide which caliber or calibers to go with. I know once I go to Africa, I will wind up going back again and again. The first trip I will hunt some plains game and at least 1 dangerous game species, most likely a buffalo. I was told 5 years for the build so this one won't be going anytime soon. I was thinking of ordering a 450-400 or a 450ne but one day I would like to go after an elephant so then I started thinking 500ne. Jerome pointed out they can do an extra set of barrels giving me both options. So, I'm looking for some opinions. Since I'll be going before this rifle is ready, do I just set this one up for the eventual elephant, or bite the bullet (pun intended) and buy 2 sets of barrels? This is obviously going to be expensive and I like the idea of having both sets, but I am a gun nut and I know now that I have the double gun bug, I'll wind up with a few of them. Thanks in advance
