Pre-64 Winchester 70, sights are 1 standing, two folding.

Factory Bottoy Metal, standard tang, barrel band front.

Barrel is marked Dale Goens, obviously not his custom stock.

If you look carefully in the first picture you can see where a piece of wood was added it to the top of stock to raise the comb.

$2550 shipped CONUS, HI Extra.

First unequivocal I'll take it followed by PM.

Beautiful. Very very nice example at a fair price. I hope someone buys this in the next few mins....

You may want to snap a few new pics of your rifle for the ad. Several are quite blurry.

Good job on the comb. Grain is a match. I wonder if the comb was lowered instead of raised. Not a criticism at all. I have a low comb stock that is very nice and a high comb stock that is not so nice for pre 64. Been thinken about trying this for a Model 70 pre 64 in 280 AI.

Good luck with sale. Hard to pass this up

Nice gun. No worries with the stock. It's interesting that someone had a 70 re-barreled for .375 HH (and Yes, that gunsmith's woodwork is VERY nice!!) Where in the ADK? 'Been up there many times. Parents were friends of Ed Helms (who grew up in the famed floatplane business..he took my parents for rides, friends for hunting...lol and even sold them a Sprite camper in the '70s that someone abandoned up there in deep snow (and 2wd car tow vehicle lol!) IF my Dad didn't give it to someone in the '90s, it'd be a mobile hunting stand today-heat, bed, kitchen!! Many fond camp hunts up there decades ago (some campouts were warm October nights and we woke up having to conduct archeological expeditions to find EVERYTHING we left out the night before (celebrating after getting small bucks via archery gear. Buttermilk Falls SP where we'd paddle firewood out to islands.) You won't require any good luck-it'll sell. We have 2 so we're good.

Interesting that it (receiver/stock) was made during early WWII (when production was lower!) It originally had a teardrop safety. Gunsmith might've updated that? Can you pls show pics of that as well? TY. The teardrops are pretty and function well. I've actually had a few problems with Win's famed 3-position "safety!!" One wouldn't go on Safe properly and the other was so easy to actuate that brush took a gun from Safe to Fire and then the brush (when we were running to intercept a Buff) prematurely pulled the trigger for me! No Bueno. Luckily, i always keep the muzzle pointed in a safe direction and finger never on the trigger until it's time,) So i'm NOT a big fan of the famed M70 trigger. It looks nice (and I had many sporterized custom Mausers with same.) Win triggers and safeties are intertwined-IF someone (unknowing fool) fools with the trigger, they have affected the safety as well. The accidental fire was on a very nice custom gun from a renowned company (actually both!) We fixed the issues shortly following discovery (New Timney triggers for both!!!)

Better pictures.

I think I've shown everything.

I wont be able to ship until the Tuesday immediately after Labor Day.

I collect Goens rifles, as I said the Biesen has made this redundant. I don't need two.

what auction are you using and what % do they take. Was wondering the best way to sell some items and was curious if it’s better to sell privately and avoid the cut from the auction house.

Did this sell on Auction?

Noah,
I might be interested in the 470 Woodleigh Softs if the price is right for the entire lot. Are you planning on going to the Tulsa Gunshow in November? If so, perhaps we could meet up.
