I have officially switched the order to a .350 Rigby over the HS in 30/06.

Not in stock, but that's not an issue, these things due to the expense cannot be rushed.

My mind feels settled that its the right decision for me.

In that country

....I reckon I'd drag the Marlin SBL along or perhaps Christensen .300 WM, while I dont want to be to precious I know what that country is like, a little different to out back NSW or where I hunted in Africa.

Thinking that the .350 Rigby loaded with some speer Hotcor 250gr pills would make a great feral pig set up, holds 5+1 as well.

Well they got that wrong. Actual weight of H2O is 83.6 grains. Just re weight it.

So folks can you use .358 Norma data in a modern rifle with Bertram cases ?

Or do you start a grain or two under max for the .350 R and work up etc.

I've read about good results with the speer 250gr Hotcor.....and I can say the 150gr Hotcor in my sons .270 worked very well on everything in Africa and locally here, especially on a Blue Wildebeest.

I would think you could use the 358NM reloading data as a guide. As you say start just under the lowest load and work up in 1 grain increments until achieving 358NM velocities then in smaller increments.

Those Speers are what I use in my 35 Whelen, they work. Though in my 35 Sambar and 338/358RUM I use Woodleigh's.

I use the Speer 250s in my .350 Rem Mag too and found them to be extremely accurate.

Remember mate different case brands may have different capacities.
308 lapua brass holds a lot less than federal gold medal brass by about 5-6 grains.

True Bob but Bertram brass is not exactly heavy so to hold an extra 7 grains of water would make one hell of a thin case. I weighed 3 cases from Bertram and they were within .3 of a grain difference in their H2O capacity. I was expecting at least 1 grain difference. Can not speak for other batches of his 350Rigby cases.

Basically I am of the opinion that they got their H2O weight wrong.

If anybody has some 350Rigby brass I would be interested in hearing how much water they hold.
