For Blaser R8 users - do you routinely change out barrels and scopes on your R8 or just leave them set up?
How do you manage this?

I do change barrels on my R-8’s, whenever the situation dictates.

Have 5 different barrels, each with a dedicated scope. I have the mini, standard and magnum bolt heads. I keep all the bolt heads and magazine inserts in the Blaser Pelican case along with the T -handle wrench and the screwdriver for the scope mounts.

By keeping all the magazines and bolt heads in the case, I never forget to bring the one I need. I have the exact same set up for my son.

The area I don’t have sorted out is how to efficiently store the barrels and scopes in the gunroom as that collection grows.

I could use some suggestions for storing the barrels and scopes in the gunroom.
 
I switch barrels/setups according to the hunt I expect. I have 5 barrels and 2 stocks. One is set up for my .375/.416 ruger setup with a 12 oz kick stop and a leupold 2x7 scope. The other is my plains/lighter gauge setup with a swaro z3 3x9. I usually keep the magnum bolt in the dg setup and the regular bolt in the lighter one unless I need my .300 win mag. Has/is working quite well so far.
 
I’ve got 3x R8’s and 10 barrels ( .22 LR to 500J) , 4x bolts, right and left handed, numerous scopes and Aimpoints on Blaser mounts, and heaps of magazine inserts, etc. I swap around barrels all the time.

Without a doubt it’s the most versatile rifle system ever!
 
I have two R8 stocks and six barrels all with their own scope and scope mounts. When getting ready for Africa I have the 19mm stock fitted with my 416 or 375 and the 17mm fitted with my 223 barrel for practice. I will then take a 300 win mag along with the 416 packed in a pelican 1700 both with scopes. For storage I keep the scopes in the mounts in the scope boxes and the barrels in the Blaser barrel sleeve in the gun safe.
 
Three barrels (.243, 9.3x62 and .416), swap them depending on target. Scopes for 9.3x62 and .416 can be swapped without screwdriver, sharing a 1-10x24.

Store barrels with scopes. Hanging with one of the studs for mounting on stock in a small hole lined with a piece of plastic hole, and the lower part of the barrel one of those things you use for hanging garden tools. Scopes mostly stays on.
 
Yes. Incredibly interchangeable.Switching things around matters not. I’ve not spent time trying to do all the combinations and record any scope adjustments but it could be done. Nothing is ever much off at all.

I’m sure you mean at home and in the range. Not out in the field hunting. I don’t have a blazer but equivalent in Sauer 404. So far I have just kept one barrel with a scope. Primary reason is cost as Sauer 404 old model mounts are v expensive and all added up for a 404 Jeff set up I was thinking adds up
 
I have 3 stocks and 5 barrels. 10,3x68 RWS (two of these), 8x68s, 8x57 and a 6.5 Creedmoor.

I have enough mounts for all the scopes and barrels.

I have 3 bolt carriers.

I have 5 bolts two standard 30-06, a medium 8x68s, and two magnums.

Still working on filling in some PERCEIVED :) holes:
375 H&H
270 WCF or 7x64 or 7mm PRC
30-06
300 Weatherby or 300 PRC
338 Lapua

I do not need any more esoteric German cartridges or Swiss semi-wildcats.

I never liked the super short cartridges in the R93, I used to own 13 barrels and 5 receivers. The 6mm BR and 223 never worked, and the 22-250 didn't work out of the magazine very well.
 
I was switching all the time, but have acquired enough receivers that now they mostly stay put. Every now and then I’ll change things up, but not much.

All scopes are QD and are stored separately to save space. Plus some have multiple options for optics.
 
I would say that I do it seasonally, but not all the time.

I have everything mounted and sighted in with its own mount.

I am considering switching to Dentlers, I ordered a set of Dentlers for a Steyr and a couple of Mauser 98's that I shoot. If I can make that work I will buy the Dentler bases for all my Blasers and scopes. Kind of a first world problem, but it should solve a lot of the night vision/thermal to regular optics problems when I get back to America.

Going to do the Pulsar Quest 3 and a couple of dedicated Pular Night Vision optics for predators and hogs. Want to be able to work them through the rotation on Blasers. I do not use Blasers for everything, as I feel as they are not the correct tool when you need a sheep rifle.

I do not own a K95, I have before, but I did not love the platform, but I loved carrying it, looking at it but not shooting it.
 
Just a question, why do you have more than 1 stock, especially of the same configuration? I thought the whole point of the Blaser R8 was to have 1 stock and then multiple barrels and scopes to hunt or shoot the same platform? I would get it if you had a professional and Success so different stock profiles. I am just wondering if I missed something. LOL. Yes, I have a 257WBY for Deer and smaller game and a 300WBY Mag for larger. Just ordered a 7PRC as a do all barrel so I can quit buying $100 boxes of ammo. I have a Leupold MK5 for the 257 and a Trijicon 2.5-15 for the 300. Will probably move the MK5 to the 7PRC.

In my case, I have a 12 Oz recoil reducer in the dg stock, none in the smaller caliber stock.

I have a stock and so does my wife. Then I got sick of switching mine back and forth with the 22lr kit so I added another.

Then Blaser came out with the Professional 2.0 so I have one of those on the way. I might have more stocks than barrels by the weekend! :ROFLMAO:

Don’t worry. I’ll sell something or buy something eventually.
