BRNO ZKK-602 458 Lott by Lon Paul of TangleWood Custom Guns.

Second owner since 2003. I have not shot this gun in twenty years since today to function test and take some time with an old friend.

This rifle is in excellent condition except for some bluing rubs marks on the top of the barrel and barrel band from carrying it. The bore is in pristine condition, and shots extremely well with my hand loads.

I only have fired 110 rounds through this gun. See log book.

I have three front sight beads to adjust for POA/POI the one I have installed works perfect for off hand shots at 33 yards with my loads. (76.0 VV N135 behind a Speer AGS in Hornady or A Square brass). Or the Woodleigh 500 gr. SP/FMJ same load. Super low ES/SD 16.7/5.7

Comes with 100 pcs. of A Square 458 Lott brass, 95 are New, and I just opened the other 4 boxes to check for tarnished, None whatsoever!

RCBS Lott three piece F/L die comes with 3 different bullet seaters, flat, round, and pointed. Dies are in mint condition.

New this year FFP Trijicon Credo 1-10x28 Mrad Green/Red eliminated segmented circle tree reticle set in EAW QD Mounts.

I’d like to sell this as a package deal with the aluminum double gun case I bought for it by Aluma Trans Americase in Waxahachie, TX.

$4,995.00 USD Plus shipping and insurance thru my FFL East County Guns in CdA, Idaho. They have great prices for shipping, but this will be heavy and I would expect it to run at least $150.00.

I’ll ship the brass and dies directly to the buyer.

If the buyer doesn’t want the Trijicon scope, the mounting system goes with the rifle less $1,000.00.

I’ll take more pictures when I have better light tomorrow outside if it’s not raining.

I also have a few hundred of the 500 gr. Speer AGS, 500 gr. TBBC’s and NorthFork Technologies 450 FP Solids I would like to sell too.

OP, can you tell us when Lon did the custom work on this BRNO rifle? (Back in the day a gun writer named Joe Coogan once termed them “BRNO conversions.”)

Also, can you furnish a picture of Lon’s “TCG” stamp?

I don’t know what Lon referred these too, but it has a mercury recoil reducer in the stock, the action and barrel are fully bedded, a trigger job, feed ramp cleaned up and rechambered from 458 WM to the 458 Lott.

Yes, I will take a picture of his company cut not stamped on top of the barrel, and on the fallower in the mag well “458 Lott” .

I did speak with Lon after purchasing it back in 2004. He was the nicest guy and very helpful but I don’t know/remember anything about the rifle other then these were for “the poor man’s PH rifle” which is what I bought it for.

I will say his work is second to none, and he did a fantastic bedding job.

GLWS. Damn, this always happens right before I go to Africa on a hunt! A Lon Paul custom built rifle is something to treasure, he was one of the best. Folks, do your research on Lon Paul. Well worth the asking price with or without the scope. I don’t need another 458 Lott but I’m tempted.

Very nice! ... Typically, though not always, Lon's "TCG" stamp will be found on top of the barrel. That's where it is on my .375H&H BRNO 602, which Lon customized in the mid-1990s.

Today or tomorrow I'll be posting an article about it along with pics and build details.

Awesome rifle, and fantastic deal.

I have six boxes of the Speer 500 gr. AGS SP, five boxes are still strapped from the factory and in the original shipping box from G&S, Inc. when I bought the remaining stock they had on hand on sale.

I have two 25 ct. boxes of the Speer TBBC’s, two 50 ct. boxes of the NF 450 FP Solids, one opened box of Woodleigh’s 500 gr. FMJ’ (40 pcs) and one open box containing 15 FB TSX’s by Barnes.

Those will be first offered to the buyer of the gun, and anything else that I find that goes with it.

If someone is seriously interested they can contact me and come shoot it too!

Hey Matt,

On my postal scale it’s reading 10.5 to just under 11 pounds with the scope, and just under 9 pounds without it.

I measured the LOP for another interested buyer this morning. From the rubber butt pad to the trigger shoe at its curve, I measured 13 3/4” LOP.
