Ruger No1 Boddington/Elephant .450NE value?

I have one of the special addition Craig Boddington Elephant models in .450NE (3 1/4) that I purchased years ago. I've owned lots of safari caliber Number 1's over the years. This one is just incredibly well balanced and well thought out with beautiful circassian Walnut stocks. I bought it in 450NE because I already had a double rifle and ammo in that caliber.

I have really been reducing a lot of my heavy rifles and a friend is interested in this one. But I have scoured GunBroker and Guns International looking for a fair to both of us price and I'm really coming up empty.

Anybody here have any insight as to what a near mint model with the box would be worth?

P.S. this is not some type of stealth offer for sale. I'm not even completely convinced I want to sell it yet, but I am curious as to its current value and figured that you guys would know.

The market is soft for sellers. my guess on the current time would be 2500-3000. Only because it is a special limited edition. But you might find someone that will pay 4K for it you never know.
 
I was kind of thinking of asking three and settling around 26 or 27. Seems like you guys are thinking the same thing.
 
The problem is that when I pulled it out of the safe the other day and was playing with it, I realized that I really do enjoy that rifle and being one of only 250 configured that way wouldn't ever be able to replace it. I'm going to have to think hard on this one.

Well now I feel bad......

It's rained all day today but if I get some sunshine tomorrow maybe I'll take it out back and try to get some pictures of it outside.

The Ruger number 1 is possibly one of the most elegant rifles ever designed.....

That is not an Echols rifle but a clone as it has the Echols stock and all the bells and whistles. Lon Paul who built the rifle does great work.
