Opinions on the Sr21?

I had one in .308, it was a very well made production rifle with a smooth action and great accuracy, especially with a lightweight barrel profile. Mine had a single set trigger (push forward to set), which you could just about blow on it and get it to fire. I sold the rifle to put money towards the rifle mentioned in the following paragraph. Mounts can be tricky for these rifles, make sure you get one that is drilled and tapped from the factory. Some will come with swing-off or claw mounts that are not compatible with standard scopes. New rings for these will cost close to what you have in the rifle.

I also have one on order, supposed to be delivered any time now. I ordered an “HPPR” version from Chris through Heym USA. Will come with a heavier barrel profile, nice walnut, and an accuracy guarantee. I ordered this one in 8x68s for 300 win mag performance in an uncommon cartridge.

Not as good as it’s predecessor the SR20

I own the SR30 which is just the straight pull version of the SR21 and it is hands down one of the best guns I have, still shoots 1/2 moa after 2000 plus rounds trough the barrel.

That HPPR looks like a sweet shooter.

Hi Dr. Ray, I will be in Cooktown from Oct 16 to Oct 23 fishing Lizard Island Black Marlin Tournament.

I have several "slack" days after fishing before I head for stay in Sydney and Fiji.

Do you have any recommendations for 1 or 2 day hunt near Cooktown?

I've hunted both DG and PG in 4 different countries in Africa.
Thank you,
Bob
