We’d like to overnight in Port Elizabeth before being picked up by Nick Bowker for our hunt. Any recommendations for a hotel or guesthouse that has overnight firearm storage in Port Elizabeth?
Thanks

Afton House, City Lodge, African Sky. City Lodge is connected to the airport and has delicious food. Afton House has even better food and combines a safari Lodge vibe that is very welcoming. Elise is a Saint. I've never been to African Sky, but I have yet to read a bad word about it. If you don't mind me asking, are you planning on taking in the nightlife in Jo Burg?

Woops!!!! I didn't read that correctly! Sorry guys!!

You don’t need overnight storage. Just keep it in your room. I stayed at Kingfisher Guest house. Walking distance to beach and the restaurant “Something Good Roadhouse”. It’s one of the coolest places on planet- my favorite place in PE. Nick Bowkers driver picked me up at Kingfisher last year!

Thanks for the info. Does Kingfisher have security and perimeter fencing? I’m assuming it does as every other place I’ve stayed in SA did.

City Lodge Hotel they take your guns and lock them in the managers office it is on the Casino Boardwalk - across the street is the second best bar in the world - Barneys tavern - I have stayed there a dozen or more times - no hassle no grief - and Barneys is a place for food - some amazing dishes ! so now you are sorted ! The whole area is covered by CCTV and armed security - 100 percent recommend.

Pina colodas at Barney's.
The Beach Hotel is great as well. It also has an attached restaurant and bar that we've enjoyed more than once.

We stayed one night after our hunt, cant remember the name but a hotel/casino on the beach there.
No need for storage, just kept it in my room.
My son and DIL stayed another night, no issues whatsoever, Totally safe,

Kingfisher has perimeter electric fencing but I never saw a security guard. It’s in Summerstrand a very nice beach area where you see joggers/beach goers everywhere. Has a really upscale Mall down by the wharf. I’ve walked back from “Something Good Roadhouse” at night after dinner and drinks. You can cut through the Pic N Pay/mini mall maybe half mile walk. Done it many times. Hunted East Cape and stayed in Summerstrand several times over the years. You can cab it to Ocean Basket for dinner or for lunch to the Harbour district to a really cool restaurant called “This is Eat”. Also lunch out toward Cape Recife to “ Pine Lodge Resort”. My PH’s kid took me fishing out there after hunt and we had lunch with his buddy. No fish but plenty of beer. That PH was from Crusader Safari hunt last year also.

Sounds like exactly what we’re looking for. Thanks

Sounds like Summerstrand is the place to be. Most all recommendations have been in that area. Appreciate the the heads up on places to eat too.

I really enjoyed my hunt with Nick’s group of PH’s and staff. If this is your first hunt with him you’re in for a helluva safari. Very professional, top notch hunters and the best food I’ve had at many safari camps period! Don’t try to resist the appetizers- you will fail! The Camaraderie among his PH’s makes for a most memorable time. I look forward to the day I can return!!!
Got one fair trophy with Ben! lol

Everything I’ve ever heard about Nick’s outfit has been great. I’m an observer this time around. My wife and 12 and 14 year old daughters are hunting. Nick seems like a great choice to introduce them to Africa. Never hurts to come back to great food at the end of the day!

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.

Dan who is C. W. Richter? He seems to not be a fan of myself!
