Well congratulations and hello from Texas!

There are hunts you remember because of the animal you took.
And then there are hunts you remember because of everything that happened along the way.

Last week, our Kudu Giveaway winner @pimes arrived in camp with his family — and what followed was one incredible African hunting adventure.


We based ourselves at our Botswana Border Camp, a small and intimate camp where the focus is on one of Africa's most iconic animals: the free-range Kudu.

From the moment you arrive, the camp feels different. There is no rush. No crowds. Just the Kalahari, good people, great food and the feeling that you've stepped into a place where you can truly slow down and reconnect. It's a place where families spend time together, friendships are formed and stories around the campfire become memories that last long after the trip is over.

And the hunting?

Over the course of the week, we pursued 2 Kudu, 2 Gemsbok, 4 Springbok and a Warthog, all hunted in the way we believe Africa should be hunted — on foot, through true walk-and-stalk hunting.

There were long days, miles covered, tracks followed, animals spotted, stalks that came together and others that didn't.

That's the beauty of hunting the Kalahari.
You never quite know what the next ridge, track or patch of red sand is going to reveal.

But the adventure didn't end when the rifles were put away.

Back at camp, the day's hunt found its way onto the dinner table.

One of the greatest privileges of hunting Africa is being able to sit down with your family and friends and enjoy the animal you worked so hard to hunt.

And Springbok quickly became one of the stars of the week. Tender, full of flavour and prepared to let the quality of the meat speak for itself, it became more than just dinner. It became another part of the story — a story that started with tracking an animal through the Kalahari and ended around the camp table, sharing a meal together.

And maybe that's what makes an African hunting trip so difficult to put into words.

It's not just the animals.
- It's the anticipation before the stalk.
- The miles on foot.
- The conversations in the truck.
- The excitement when you finally spot the animal you've been looking for.
- The laughter around the fire.
- The food.
- The family time.
- The friendships.

And those quiet moments when you realise you're sitting in the middle of the Kalahari, far from everyday life, experiencing something you may never experience anywhere else.

The Kalahari has a way of getting under your skin.

People arrive here wanting to hunt. They leave carrying stories, friendships and memories — and very often, they leave a little piece of their heart behind too.

And the truth is, we feel it as well. Every time a family leaves our camp, there is a heavy heart on our side too. Because somewhere along the way, guests become friends, and their week in Africa becomes part of our story as well.
