Elective eye surgery? Premium Lens replacement. Scope use?

Had it done 3 years ago, tri focal so had halos but don't see it any more unless I want to. Works great, need reading glasses for clipping my nails or pulling out splinters. No problem shooting (scopes). There are risks so not sure I will recommend it to my kids. But if you know them you make up your mind.

It’s funny, but as I’m getting older on my last eye exam, My Physician informed me that I am developing a small cataract in my right eye. You wouldn’t think it would be noticeable, but I do see a slight haze forming when I close one eye and look through that eye. Unfortunately, for me, it’s my right eye, which is my dominant eye for shooting, and I anticipate needing surgery in the next few years. Watching this thread closely for opinions and advice.

Waiting in anticipation—appointment for the left eye in October, and the right eye in November. It will be wonderful to be done with contact lenses after 30+ years.

I had it done! New lenses. Yesterday at 11:00 AM. I had one down time afternoon and night where I just laid around. The pill they give you is really nice!
No pain, then or now. Very minor discomfort and blurry vision yesterday. This morning I'd say I have 85% normal vision, no pain. My pupils are still dilated a little bit and the doctor said the eyes have some swelling, both contributing to less than perfect vision for a couple days. With continuous improvement over 2-3 weeks.

Already I can tell that I will not need glasses, for anything! I went to my tool box and could see the sizes written on the side. (that was a test, I could not see that at all before). I'm typing this without glasses and can easily use a smart phone.

Far vision is as good or better than it was with glasses.

First thing this morning I looked through scopes and binoculars with ease. Though the scopes needed re-focused. I shot my recurve bow and compound better than I can ever remember! These is a lens in my compound peep sight that will need to be removed.

Sometimes around the edges of my vision I can see streaks of dark, like if you move your eyes around in binoculars. Night time halos are yet to be determined.

So far, I am very happy with the procedure.

Wish I could! I got it for my son. I have Kerakonis so cannot have the surgery

I chose to have my lenses replaced about 8 years ago now. I was tired of having to get new prescription glasses every year and having readers everywhere. Quality of life is the most important thing to me.

I'd met a lady in the gym years ago who had her lenses replaced with Crystalens and had had them for almost 20 years. 20/20 vision. I approached one of the pioneering doctors (in Austin Texas) in this technology and he told me that a better lens was now available, Symfony. Among its benefits is that is reduced the halo from bright lights to almost nothing.

$7,000 an eye it cost me. Best money I ever spent. I have 20/20 vision again when both eyes are combined. Meaning my left eye's diopter is +22.5 and my right is +23.0. One is slightly focused on close up the other on infinite.

The brain learns which to pay more attention to at whatever distance. And the halo was so small in the beginning that within two weeks my brain learned to ignore it so I see no halos at night.

I can read the smallest print if there is enough light, otherwise for the super tiny stuff (like size 4 font and smaller) I use a reader.

My balance improved dramatically, an unexpected side benefit.

Like everything else you get what you pay for. I'm sure in the 8 years I've had mine today there is an even better lens available.

Anime Slayer APK is honestly one of the best anime apps I’ve ever used. It’s packed with a massive collection of both popular and underrated titles, and everything streams smoothly without interruptions. I appreciate how well it runs even on mid-range Android devices.

Between Blak Rock and Pocahontas, I did not want to say that on the forum. That's a nice Cat!
