MOZAMBIQUE: Little Rock To Tete

Day 14
We walked into the bushpig bait for the fifth morning in a row! Doug was walking a touch faster than normal this morning, probably not expecting to see a pig. I noticed something different at the bait site, though it was difficult to tell due to some brush. I managed to get Doug’s attention, and he stopped and looked back at me as I pointed toward the bait. He quickly turned around and whispered, "Pig!"
As quickly as it all started, I felt the wind shift to my back, and off the pigs ran up the mountain. My heart sank with disappointment, but that’s hunting. We tried to go after them with no luck. That would be the last bushpig we would see on the trip, leaving it at the very top of my list for my next trip to Africa.
We spent the rest of the day walking the bush in search of a bushpig or an exceptional trophy plains game animal. Along the way, I captured some amazing pictures of a beautiful mountain. We even spotted my first klipspringer up in the peaks, though unfortunately, they are protected in Zambia. But that kilpspringer go me thinking about where I could go hunt one.

Day 15: The Last Day
This was my final day on this amazing Mozambique hunting safari. We decided to hunt a new blind this morning in hopes of seeing a big kudu, impala, or warthog. We saw a number of impala and warthogs while sitting in the blind. After a few hours, we caught a glimpse of a great impala in the back of the group. He was very wary and took his sweet time working his way to the water, taking at least 20 minutes after the others had finished.
My first shot was low and missed him completely. I quickly grabbed another arrow as he stood at 45 yards, looking back trying to determine what had happened. Mistake! I took aim and sent the second arrow on its way. It found its mark this time, and he ran just 15 yards—measuring a fantastic 22 inches.
That afternoon, we decided to look around for a warthog, hoping to get the shot on video. After a couple of hours, we spotted a decent warthog and captured the whole thing. The footage shows me taking the shot at 27 yards, marking my third warthog of the trip. I am officially a massive fan of spot-and-stalk warthog hunting!
This has been an incredible Mozambique safari with the Duckworths. I can’t say enough about them and this spectacular area. Finishing the trip with 12 animals, they mentioned this has been their most successful bow hunt to date. That success is a testament to all the hard work put into their C9 concession and my excellent PH, Doug Duckworth!

Couple questions- What did you guys enjoy the most the pictures, the videos or the written descriptions of each day. Personally, i’m more of a visual person and prefer Victoria Secrets ops, I mean videos then pictures.
