12 Year Old boy killed by a Croc in India

What is the value of life is as subjective and idiotically open ended to your ability to deny any that doesn’t placate your thoughts and that question is as smart as asking how many bubbles are in a bar of soap?

You want to lower the impoverished world population? Simply mandate organic farming and ban the Haber-Bosch system, you’d have that competition your worried about cut by billions in a couple of months.

If you’re willing to throw a drowning man an anchor to prevent competition to “your children” that’s your decision to make and we’ll see the world end up in your making.

I will say though, your exact remarks that boil down to…
“me, mine, me” is what separates the elderly people I knew as a kid from the elderly people of today; the Greatest generation genuinely cared about the nation they left behind for all younger than themselves; the elderly people today seem to have your mind set and only think as far as their grandchildren’s lives directly.

Example: Ross Perot in 1992 said “NAFTA is mortgaging your grand children’s futures and if passed you will hear a giant sucking sound of American jobs leaving this county.”

As if from a prophet, but no a 5’5” man with big ear from Fort Worth Texas told everyone of voting age exactly what would happen……

Because he cared about not only lives but quality of life for others.
Ya thats why boomers are not liked. And ive already stated what i consider value added. So its not a nebulous or changable thing.

But im not going to sacrifice or disadvantage my
Family
Friends
Country
Or people..

To help a group of people who are antagonistic to the existance of the former halfway around the world.

We created the world. And bleeding hearted boomers have tought younger generations to hate themselves in a culturally suicidal way.

And your also right but the greatest generation was forced to change their world view at gunpoint back home.

What a sad truth for the state of America today. At least that’s how it seems a lot of people are now - it’s a selfish culture and I’m not sure where the attitude shift stemmed from, if someone can give me history that would be wonderful.

A 12 year old boy....not even a man yet, taken in one of the most terrifying and painful ways imaginable. What if he was your own son? Ever hold your own dead child? I did.....nuf said.

I do find it interesting, as it applies to shoreline croc attacks, that of all the humanitarian organizations that are active in India and Africa, none of them has devised the incredibly simple method of establishing fenced areas where the village folk can safely approach and use the bank as needed.
All it takes is a perimeter of poles or pipes to keep any sizable croc from approaching.
It’s odd that this isn’t as commonplace as bomas to keep lions from their livestock.
Why have eons of natives totally ignored this as a need?

I’ve had what may be a similar experience.
My first son was born with a diaphragmatic hernia and had no real chance of survival.
Even the best surgeons and treatment the western medical world could muster weren’t successful and he died.
I can tell you, holding your own son while he takes his last gasp can definitely change your perspective on the value of life.

Actually, I'm not sure that the current generation is any more "selfish" than any other generation. At 71 I'm old enough to remember a lot of the old timers. Things that they accepted as normal would not be accepted by anyone today.

As far as how things have gotten so far out of hand, I.blame the sixties. Northern California was a.nice place until it was invaded by the "flower children" and other liberals. Somethings have gotten better, but mostly things have gotten awful. Crime is much worse. Just look at some of the "woke" demonstrations and the lunatics that are involved. They think they are helping the poor and vulnerable. I believe in kindness, but I will draw the line at the destruction of my culture. BTW, I have put MY OWN life at risk to save other people from violent acts of criminals. Once when it wasn't even part of my job.

Amen Brother...Amen!

You seen how many get killed by trains.... not trying tobshed croc tears. But who cares.
Were you drunk when you wrote this!??!? God, I hope so. Your English is terrible, and your sentiment is abhorrent. "But who cares" I am pretty sure the family of that child fucking cares. What you said was completely and utterly classless.

Then let me rephrase since your clearly have issues regulating your emotions to be able to get the drift of whats being said....

No one heres related to the kid......

So other than some kind of gore fetish why would you watch a video of a kid geting mauled and killed?
Then act with such umbrage someone doesnt care to or about it at all?

I have enough class to not watch videos of kids getting killed.

Nor to care about problems on the other side of the world when USA has more than enough.

And if you think the immigrant populations in europe and USA are integrating into society there not.

The west is being activly colonized while boomers like you with your virtue signalling take umbrage with anyone able to notice.d
Your damning posterity and your civilization to sleep well with your virtuosity. When you die at least you can tell your grandkids who cant even afford housing..... but i was a good guy spent all my money and votes to help/care for everyone in the world but you.

As for the typing my phone has small keyboard.

And ps ad hominem attacks are the sign you have a weak/non existant argument.

I do agree with sealing the US border.to anyone that does not want to assimilate into US (or European) culture. I also want all illegal aliens deported ASAP. Many immigrants want the benefits of living here and to take advantage of week minded liberals and their screwed up policies. Those that do come here legally and fully embrace American values while assimilating into the culture tend to be good and decent people. I have known many of them. Those that want to come here and change American culture and laws to suit their own religious ideals should be rounded up and sent back to to whatever shit hole country they came from.

Having said all that does not mean that I do not have sympathy for the tragic death of a child in his own country on the other side of the world.

Dear friend John, the value of every life is relative. It depends on whether that value is judged by the one who speaks or the one who listens. I'll be the one talking now.
The value of life is when you can walk proudly and no one can disturb your walk. That you know what you want in life, and more than that you know what you don't want.
To be ready to give up material values to help someone you have never met in your life. And be happy because of that.
The value of life is also that you can listen to another person and learn from him, and one day you will be jealous that he knew more than you.
The value of life is also the friends you make. The trust they show you.
The value of life is also the education you have. When you wake up in the morning and get up smiling, that's the value of life.
When you meet friends on a forum that was founded 15,000 km away from you, it must be the value of life.
This morning, when I was going to work, I came across two creepers that were in the middle of the road. 1000% someone would run them over with a car. I stopped and put them in the grass. A man saw me do that and laughed at me. I laughed at him too. It made me happy, so that's a value for me.
The value of my life is also the fact that if I am walking alone on the street and someone behind me calls thieves, I will not have the urge to turn around.
The value of life is when you are not enslaved by vices, that you can play with them but not let them conquer you. The value of life is that you managed to find someone with whom you can sit and listen for days without getting bored.
The value of life is also the peace of the one who lives it, that a person knows how to face challenges. I wholeheartedly agree with the writer Rudyard Kipling and his poem "if"
"creepers"?

Ive stated numerous times every deaths a tradgedy.

But globally 180k people die a day. 65 million total. Everyone is individually a tradgedy. But im not going to slow my roll because someone thats 20,000 degrees removed from my country and myself. Is having a bad day. And fyi today another 180k people are going to die in every manner of tragic ways imaginable will happen. And tommorow and the day after. And one day it will be me and yall. Our families will be sad and the world wont skip a beat

Is it shit for there family and community sure. Could they take posts and make an exclusion area near the river.... yes why havent they? not my problem.

But i find it really funny how not having an emotional knee jerk reaction of OMG thats terrible or caring..

Its also funny how folks here will spend 20-60k to kill an animal and then have the moral gumption to lecture me on morality because I dont care mother nature scored a point. Talk about double standards

Is somehow conflated to me being ignorant terrible or an asshole.

Its really funny. Virtue signallers. Are

It is so amazing, when I hunted with D&Y they said on average 2 villagers get killed by crocs or hypos each week throughout all the villages represented in their hunting areas. They told me although they have tried multiple times over the years to warn the villagers the answer is always "God wills." The paths they walk down to the lake are dug deeply and of course the crocs just lie in wait, but the villagers will not change their paths.
Amazing is right. You can't help those that will not help themselves. Still a tragedy when a child gets chopped.

No. I was asking what creepers were. In the US a guy might be more inclined to shoot a creeper than to rescue one. Here a creeper refers to a child molester, rapist, speeding tom or other unsavory criminal types. I was sure that was.not what you meant.

Double standards by people that feel a human is more important than an animal? Well no shit Sherlock!

I take it you also wouldn't feel bad if an animal was wounded and suffering until it can be dispatched. Hell, I wouldn't do that to a rat, and I hate rats.

It's really funny. The heartless. Are

I dont believe in needless suffering if i can help it. Man or beast

I do love the baseless assumptions tho.
I take it you are referring to the regard that people aren't worth more than animals. I think it was you that said it was a "double standard." Sounds pretty baseless to me.

Reminds me of a time an older woman gave me the old PETA line, "A rat is a pig is a dog, is a boy." I told her that she didn't really believe that. When she told me that I couldn't tell what she believed. I told her I could prove it. She had likely driven past a road killed deer that morning and given it no further thought. Then I told her, "Let's say that tomorrow you drive to work and see a three year old child lying dead on the side of the road. Do you feel the same or do you stop and do what you can?" She blanched and stammered. She knew I was right.

Is there a "double standard" where animals and humans are concerned? Of course. Should there be? Oh, Hell yes

No one has assumed anything about you that wasn't BASED on what you've written, therefore it isn't baseless.

Dave, I could use both of them if still available. I just picked up a new .22 mag and a .22 pump that they would be perfect on.
