The .375H&H a very versatile rifle

I handload all rounds for my .375 H&H with middle-of-the-recommended-powder-range charges for both hunting and practice (300 grain bullets.) I find them pleasant to shoot loaded thus, something i cannot say about shooting off a box of the factory ammo at practice. I have taken some factory rounds that were really pounding me during drills apart and found them loaded to the gills, tightly compressed. Chasing max velocities as a selling point, no doubt. No thanks.
 
I do not have any African experiences. But I took my first red stag in England with my .375 H&H and that’s my favourite rifle caliber. Now that I have moved to the states and took my rifle with me, I’m hoping to get a bear this season here in PA with it. Rifle is a New Haven made Winchester M70 classic super express.

Recently back from Africa where I used a camp rifle in 375 H&H with 270 gr federal cup and core bullets to take everything from oryx to leopard. Browning Abolt synthetic and stainless suppressed. It was a delight to shoot and hit like lightning. I’m now scouring the net for browning Abolts

Welcome to the club! Been shooting one for 35 years sans the suppressor. They seem to get looked down upon in certain circles but mine has never failed on me even once. It is my favorite rifle out of all of them.
 
Being relatively new to all this still, I have yet to hunt with a .375. I own the new Montana Rifle Company Tsavo in .375 as well as a 1975 Browning Hi-Power Olympian in 375. My first hunt with a .375 will be my West Texas hunt for Aoudad with Gizmo.

Honestly? I haven't even shot it yet. I got it back from Hendershots last week after they added my scope and my suppressor. It's been 100 degrees here in the Mid-Atlantic. Waiting for a cooling spell to drive the hour and a half one way to the nearest range. Man I can't wait to move out of Maryland.

Lo considero muy versátil y adaptable. Excepto para caza peligrosa, donde me parece un poco insuficiente, para elefantes, búfalos y animales de ese tamaño subiría una talla a .404. Pero incluso para Eland y otros juegos peligrosos y de piel fina, es perfectamente adecuado. Tengo uno y me encanta.

.375 is a great caliber.....probably the most versatile hunting round on the planet.....and will kill anything big enough to die.

i have a ruger No.1 in .375 and love it.....im also in the process of getting a Winchester M70 Safari express in .375 as well.

but from what ive seen, the CZ550, Winchester M70 and Ruger No.1 are the most popular .375 production guns out right now.


as for Recoil, its really not that bad......its actually similar to shooting a 3" deer slug.........but where the slug feels like a punch to the shoulder......the .375 feels like a hard push. i find its actually quite pleasant to shoot.
