One Stop Shop NEW LEFTY Heym 89B .450/400 3" w/ ammo, bullets, reloading supplies, extras

I think questioning the asking price is inappropriate unless you’re actually negotiating to buy the rifle. It would be different if the seller asked our opinion about the price, but he didn’t. Let the buyer do their own due diligence and decide what they’re willing to pay. They can then have a private conversation with seller to see if they can come to a mutually agreeable price. When we insert ourselves into negotiations without being asked we’re potentially sabotaging the seller’s ability to sell his rifle. I know if I offered a rifle for sale and someone decided to post that the price was too high when they weren’t even interested in buying the rifle I’d be pissed.
I’m going to have to rethink my screen awesome screen name.

Waited 4 years for this and as we all know life changes a lot in that time. That's the one simple reason why I'm selling this. It's a brand new 89B hasn't had one round fired from it. Pics will speak for themselves as for details. Comes with a lifetime supply of bullets and enough ammo to hunt with for quite a while. As well as plenty of primers. Bullets are Woodleigh, Swift (softs and solids) and Barnes TSX. I have SIX boxes of breakaway solids there's just three in the pic. Comes with gold snapcaps and reloading dies. I'm asking 42k for the entire setup. Might sit here a while but probably not as long as you'll wait for your own. Price is reflective of condition, extras, and avoiding that wait time.

Magnificent rifle!

Respectfully, would the Rigby have all the bells and whistles of this Heym at that price point?

Wood, CCH, scroll, gold inlaid brand name

Me thinks this would be a $70k Shikari
very fair point!!!

Beautiful rifle, and a lefty to boot! I think if a lefty seriously in the hunt for a double were to come upon this post, I'd expect you to get a PM.

If folks didn’t see the value when this was posted, should now with price increase and tariffs.

There are a lot of upgrades in this rifle. Curious what class/grade wood it was on your build, I think by their standards now would be at least class 7, so $2500-$2500 upcharge there, then even the teardrops behind the frame are like $550 now, plus similar for the inlet rear swivel stud, then Level II engraving which is around $3,200, case colored frame is another $2,600 ish…

I think whatever premium to save build time last year, not sure there is a premium anymore. If a lefty went to order this rifle today, I’d be surprised if it would prove south of $45k and still around a 2-year wait.

I’m just lucky it’s a left-handed, or I’d be inclined to sell my Level I 450/400 89b to get this one…such a gorgeous rifle.

Everything is identical just swap the stock for one that's cut for a right handed shooter
Really? I have a left-handed Heym in 9.3x76R the triggers are staggered for a lefty as well, they built yours differently? It does open to the right though.

Sorry I wasnt very clear. The triggers are set up for a lefty yes. However, like almost everything that is optimized for right handed folks being luckily perfect for a left handed person..so is the situation with the triggers being swapped for left hand triggers. A right handed shooter will be faster on this setup just like a lefty is faster on a right handed setup. I opted for the left hand triggers because I wanted to avoid the temptation of blasting both barrels as fast as possible. Just the way I like to think. If a righty wanted to swap the stock (I would never but to each his own) theyd have a rifle that was maybe a half second faster than the original configuration. Id also say any cartridge bigger than this would make that thinking maybe a little risky just due to the chance of accidentally doubling the rifle. If a person thinks they need that little extra speed then here you go

If a right handed shooter wanted the gun and the stock dimensions worked other than the comb being on the wrong side and you did not want to wait for a new one then have your favorite stocksmith remove the comb. Sound’s cringy but…

You can remove the comb, have the triggers swept for about $1000 (properly done) and have the stock cast off for a righty for another $500. Removing the comb and refinishing the stock properly is about $1000-$1500. So about $2500-$3000 to make it a righty with all work done being very proper.

Come on guys! If you can’t stuff any more money in your casket spend it on guns and hunting!

It would be a mortal sin to make alterations to a fine left-handed rifle.

Prolly less sinful just to learn to be wrong-handed. Worse choices in life, and some beautiful incentive here.

I have the answer! Does anyone have a left handed wife you could buy the gun for then borrow the gun from time to time. I can hear it now. Question. “What’s with the left handed stock.” Answer “lt is my wife’s, my Purdy is in the shop.”

It will take finding a lefty that wants a LH DR in this caliber. It’s too close to retail for a RH shooter to deal with the work needed and the time necessary to do the work.

High end lefty guns languish on the market and sell for peanuts. Time will tell. Its highest and best use will probably be rightified.

Lefties this is your chance. I love mine, my favorite double and has taken multiple Buffalo
