.450 would be my choice too, but I haven’t shot a .400 and wouldn’t lack confidence using it. It’s the cartridge that quietly gets the job done with minimal fuss. The .450 is overlooked for the .470 mostly it seems.

100%...by everyone. The gun makers make more .470's and then the ammo makers make more options. I do understand the history and how the .470 came about (in the chicken and egg analogy, the banning of the .450 caliber guns and the .470 taking over and then ammo becoming available again in the last 40 years). I have shot a .470 and the .500ne I own. I have not shot .y .470 or .416 Rigby's yet but will when I can get out.

Very cool. I'd love to meet the guy but he does always mention he doesn't love meeting folks and shaking so many hands...can't blame him.

I am again looking for 600 Nitro dies preferably RCBS 1 inch. The set I purchased previously are 1 1/2 inch and do not fit my die. Another member has graciously taken them off my hands.
