I'm not sure how much it weighed exactly, but estimates were between 550 and 650g.This is my dream buck. How many grams is this guy?
Exceptional trophy!
I am sure it has something to do with sorting out which Hunt took, which buck. We do the same thing I always bring zip ties with a little piece of plastic with my name and phone number on it. And then I put them on the animals head. A lot of times Hunt are organized by Group so there will be 8 to 10 hunters 5 to 10 hunters in camp that don’t really know each other may not know each other at all. On a driven hunt this is exceptionally important because a lot of driven hunts have 50 to 60 people sometimes 150 people depending on how big they are so it is important to have some way to mark the trophies so you can get your trophies back at the end of the hunt. The most famous Hunt that I have done is Hohenfels in Bavaria and you actually had to take the head off right then as soon as you departed the hunting scene because there was no getting the trophies back. But most of the time on smaller hunts, you’ll collect the head at the end of the hunt from the cooler and it’s important to know which one is yours. American hunters may not know this, but typically here in Europe, you do not own the game you only own the head. If you want to do some kind of Taxidermy or it is common to have to buy the entire animal. Including the meat. This isn’t everywhere and maybe there will be outfitters that deal with Americans that have a situation to work this out but the common situation is that here in Europe. If you want to do Taxidermy beyond a skull, you have to buy the entire animal. If you just want the skull, then they cut it off with the skin and flesh intact and then you have to either get it cleaned by a taxidermist or clean it yourself most German hunters clean them themselves. What are the tags on the antlers.
